The Longing

Yeah. This is actually on par with Eastshade for fun, relaxing gameplay. Satisfying play and exploration sim. At least once try playing the game without any other task taking your attention away, it's pretty relaxing, which is rare in games these days.

..... wait...... wait..... wait..... 400 days.... I have to say, once I watched the trailer I felt a wave of joy wash over me, finally a game that was completely different to anything I have ever played before and crafted with such care and thought into the 'meaning of time' of 'loneliness' of 'patience'. Playing this will slow down your world and open up a new experience. This would be in my top-5 games of all time.

My time with the Longing came at a point when I was really quite low. Post-breakup and out of college, the very aimless, purposeless, trapped feeling that this game encourages you to grapple with as you spend time with the Shade. It's not for everyone - hell, it's probably not for most people in the traditional 'game' sense, but if you're hurting, lost, or looking for an outlet that will be there day after day, yet let you still live your life, the Longing is an amazing experience I can only heartily recommend.

Honestly, I just got and started this game but it already feels like the "soundtrack" to the Corona quarantines and lockdowns. If you live someplace that isn't affected (yet), get the game and immerse yourself in a year full of waiting.

Broke my mattock trying to bust into the King's impenetrable treasure room. I now have to wait for a week for a bed of moss to grow so I can get a new mattock. 400/10 would break mattock again.
