If you like adventure, TLJ is your game.

This game still holds such a high place for me. I loved it the first time I ever played it. It was so long, engaging, and rich in its storytelling that I just couldn't stop playing it. I sold my physical copy a long time ago, but luckily GOG has it now and I just completed the game once again and it was just as good as it was the first time around. TLJ is not particularly challenging. The puzzles are, for the most part, straightforward and the story is completely linear. There are a few puzzles that are just wacky, but that's common in adventure games. Really, TLJ is more like an interactive movie or book. It's so character driven that you relish the chance to learn more about them and the worlds they live in. You'll spend more time in this game listening and learning than solving puzzles. Anyway, a real, unique gem. Probably my favorite adventure game. Buy it, set aside a good 2 or 3 days, and get going on the longest journey.

The Point&Click Adventure Game

The longest Journey is the best Adventure game ever made. It defines the whole genre. It's a classic p&c adventure game. No need to stealth or fight in this game, because it's an adventure game! It has a very long story, which touches your heart so much you almost feel pain when it ends. Don't mind the graphics, don't mind the low screen resolution, the story grabs you and takes you away in a minute and holds you so tight you feel sorry when it finally lets you go. The puzzles are not too hard, and you only need your mind to play this game, no matter if you have two left hands, no additional physical skill needed whatsoever (not like in so called adventure games these days!). It (obviously) surpasses it's POS sequel, but that's another story. Longest Journey has no fighting, no quick-time events, no time limit to answer in dialogs, no stealth, none of this sh*t just to boost sales by making it interesting for casual players. A must have and must play!

Memorable and Beautiful

This critically acclaimed sci-fi adventure game tells a majestic and memorable story in a beautiful way. I avoided playing this when it came out because the protagonist is female, and I sort of thought it might be another Laura Bow. Well, it's not. This is a thought provoking, fantastic journey through two realities -- the mundane, day to day world around us, and a secret underlying fantasy world just out of reach. As our heroine travels and speaks with denizens of both worlds, she unravels literally a world of mystery. If you like adventure games or brilliant sci-fi stories, you will love The Longest Journey.

Harkening Back to the Golden Age

The Longest Journey was made in a time when the industry at large believed that true adventure games were dead. They were (and still are) very, very wrong. Everything you love about older adventure games (Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, beneath a Steel sky) is here with an update upon it where it was needed. Overall, it stays true to what makes an adventure game great: Great puzzles, incredible story and an immersive world. Check this game out if you like adventure games, you will not be dissapointed.

Wonderful storytelling.

The voice acting is superb, the characters are wonderful to listen to and the story itself is quite immersive. One more perfect example of the best videogame stories of all time!
