Short but Sweet!

This was a really neat game. The graphics are simple but beautiful. Discovering how the game worked and then choosing how to play was a lot of fun! Like the game description says, it can be completed in a single sitting. It took me a little under 2 hours.

Nice game with some pros and cons

After replaying the game multiple times what i can say about it: - First time i didn't know how to start the game, when i realized i have to move the cursor to one of the moving green circles on the starting screen and click on them. ( I thought, i got a different game from the game on the pictures. ) - I like the concept of "each action has it's consequence" negative or/and positive and you have to experiment what works and what not. - The effects may blind you when you progress and when you reach the end, so it may not be for everyone. In summary it's a nice and fun game even if there's some cons.

Interesting concept / horrible controls

I just can't get used to the controls. You simply steer the circle avatar by moving the mouse, but it has so much inertia that you need to steer drastically into the opposite dircetion to just slow down. You can adjust the sensivity on the fly with your mouse wheel, butthe movement is still is so annoying and makes the game way more diffcult than it should be in my opnion. Also: no controller support for some reason, even though start and A button do things. Is it so hard to implement controller support these days?

Good game, but also hard to understand

3/5 7/10 Some much recommend hints in the end because this game can be hard to grasp for many ppl. How to play and what to do is also mentioned further down, dont read past the spoiler warning if you want to go in completely blind and figure it out yourself! (Im currently writing a guide for this game since there is no written one anywhere and many ppl are at a loss for what to do. I still have a few minor things Im trying to get to the bottom of and understand fully so I will be updating review/forum in the coming weeks. A few mistakes might occur untill then) Unity analytic dll's are present but seem inactive. No logs are currently generated or calling out. ═════ Rating would be a 3.5 or a close 4 star if the dev hadnt reviewed his own game with a 5 star, something I personally always deduct half or a whole point for b/c devs obviously cant remain unbiased with their own games, and also because I care greatly about review transparency. ═════ This game almost made it to my Hidden Gem shelf! Its a very good game and underrated, but only once you figure it out and know what to do. That learning curve can be quite difficult to grasp tbh, its true, and it makes ppl walk away from an otherwise good little game which is a shame. But once you know, its one of those games I didnt uninstall and still fiddle with now and then for a little break or to pass the time with, I loved/love it and it IS underrated and underplayed imo. Its a game about life philosophy and the consequences to your actions in life, reflected in the game. The narrator talks to you along the way which at first can be rather hard to focus on b/c you're trying very hard not to die while overwhelmed by all the pretty shinies and obstacles lol. (have fun with your focus and the sarcastic remarks when you fail if you have ADHD/ADD lol xD ) But its also just a great 'in between' game to test your precision and speed skills on the mouse or just a quick pass time run while eating since it only uses mouse to play with. Some decent hand and mouse movement skills is recommended. The original mouse control was different and is now optional in game. I agree with ppl back then saying that it didnt work well, I tried it and nop def not for me either lol. Speed can be adjusted. The orb follows your mouse behind at a slight distance; its not supposed to be instant like your desktop mouse, deal with it! Some ppl dont like this but this is how its supposed to work in game and I loved that about it and I think its perfect the way it is. Once you have mastered navigating and found the right speed for you (mouse scroll), then this was one of the best parts that I enjoyed about it b/c its very sastisfying to fly around without hitting any obstacles. ═════ ⓘ - Help, my mouse wont move or is incredibly slow! You accidentally scrolled down on ur mouse too far so its now at a standstill. Scroll up to your desired speed. I had mine on lvl 9. - Help, achievements wont trigger! You turned the narrator off. (or its bugging out) - Help, the kidney beans wont turn soft no matter how long I cook them for! You should have soaked them first. Yesterday. ═════ The game can be played in many ways, challenging or easy, just like real life. And you can make it short or long. When you know what to do you can finish a run in ~10 min if you pick the easy way. If you take the hard ways, the fun ways, by taking the challenge orbs and spawning enemies, then you can spend 20 min, 30 min, technically however long you want as long as you dont collect enough orbs to progress and keep taking the challenge lvls just for the fun in some of those. Like the bouncing ball one :D ('cheating' aka taking shortcuts in life tend to backfire and come back to bite you later on), There are 20+ challenge realms with different fun things to try. To see them all expect a few hours. 🩸Your health depends on the previous lvl u reached before your untimely death. You start at stage 1, so lets say you die on stage 5 (shown on the amount of orbs on the main screen), then you have 5 lives next round. If you then take 5 hits and die on stage 3 this time, then next round you have 3 lives. Make it to lvl 12, next time 12 lives. You get a big circle around you when you take damage, when you get near the end of your lives it gets yellow. When ⭕ red it which means (you cant take more/can take 1 more hit before dying.) 🆂🅿🅾🅸🅻🅴🆁🆂 ◉ How does it work and what to do: 🟢 Your goal is to collect the green orbs to progress to the next stage. (one challenge realm has colour swapping so everything is opposite) Each stage needs 20 orbs gathered and there are 11 full stages. When you finish stage 11 and reach stage 12 you win, and get one of 4 ending quotes(achievements) depending on your playstyle. 🟣 Along the way there are distractions. Distractions are fun and good for a while, but should not replace responsibility. These are the pink/purple orbs. The sounds and music you make when collecting them ares very sastifying to listen to and I did many rounds just playing with this. You can defy what is expected of you and have fun with this but the consequence of this is that you start attracting 🔺enemies later in. ༄🟣༄ At stage 6, challenge portals start spawning. They are the purplish orbs but with an obvious swirly glow. There are 20+ timed different realms. You you can continue to pick green orbs inside to progress or simply try not to die, some of them are fun and some hard. You can ignore these challenge realms if you want an easy/'boring' run/life. 🔺 Red arrow enemies can start spawning and chase you if you get too close to them. I say 'can' and not 'will' because this depend on how you choose to play the game/your life. The amount spawning depend on how many pink musical orbs you collected. (1 spawn for each 10 pink/purple orbs you collect.) They will also start spawning if you pick up the 'red damage' buff. So you can make it significantly harder for yourself by playing around with the music nodes, or keep your focus and stay on your path. You can temporarily disable their homing signal by collecting the purple orbs when they are close enough to it which makes them confused and neutral for a bit. But doing this is a downward spiral of 'self destruction' which will just spawn more the more you pick up (each 10 spawn 1). You can dodge or trap them if your fast enough, else try to stay in the other end of where they are. 🕳️ In the last stages (8+) dark blue black holes start spawning. If you touch them you get drawn in and loose control untill the map catches up and draws you back out. You will zoom towards where your mouse is so be mindful of this as it can hurt you if you're on the other side of the map and drag it through a bunch of obstacles to catch up with your cursor location! Along the way there are 3 buffs/'cheats' you can pick up to help you out, but can also have a downside, like in real life: ⚪️❇️White with green lightning pulls green orbs to you from afar. Seems safe to use without spawning enemies later in. ⚪️💢White with red lightning hurts red block 🟥 obstacles and 🔺arrow enemies but picking it up will just spawn/spawn more enemies the more you resort to 'cheating', like using brute force and violence in your life which is never the right solution. Decide if its worth using this buff or not for yourself, it will make it easier, at first. ⚪️🌐White with a blue circle around it will slow down the entire board. Only really usefull if you are overwhelmed by enemies. Seems safe to use without spawning enemies later in. ═════ Would love to see all, or some at least, of the challenge lvls added seperatly after completion to play a whole run with each type of layer on top, that would be a fun option to have! Im offended by the price of free. Add soundtrack here as a way to support like on the enemysmemeny platform? Would love to see Sick Samurai released here as well! 🐧 Arch Linux EndeavourOS

Short But Well Made Game

The gameplay itself is simple but fun, steering a circle around to collect smaller circles while avoiding obstacles. The further you get, the more durable your next life will be and the easier it is to take a few hits and still get further along. The game has a more philosophical level underlying everything, and cleverly makes use of the instincts every gamer has to lead them astray, even after reading the opening quote basically telling you the secret, only to slowly bring them back around as they realize the trick and adapt their gameplay... or choose not to, and instead explore the various effects and challenges that brings. It's a short, reasonably challenging and fun game, and well worth playing, especially since it's free.
