Great (text heavy) turned based RPG
First the pros and cons in short after that an in depth review: Pros: - Great world building (every NPC has its story like in witcher 3) - Good Story (having a big part and also smaller "episodic" parts!) - Lovable Characters (with humor and some faults making them more real) - Tactical turned based fighting system using turn oders and bonuses. - Atmospheric soundtrack with catchy melodies - Lots of Side activities (wninable poker/blackjack fishing, sidequests, reading!) - Unique Skill system! (With lots of customization) - Well crafted steampunky art style which is still good looking (even though its an old game) Cons: - You need to play the first game first! - Text heavy (and big intro, thats not for everyone) - Sometimes repetitive combat (animations and lot of enemies) - Characters/dialogues can be over the top sometimes (I like it but not everyone does) - Missable sidequests (ALWAYS RETURN TO GUILD WHEN YOU CAN! (hint first chapter in school)) - Need some time to adapt to controls without controller) - Sometimes quite some bit of walking (especially for sidequests). - Outdated textures (its an old game). All in all the game is not for everyone, BUT for more people than you would think. The game surely has not top notch graphics, but its art style make it still work, and together with the music helps you to dive into this overall lively world. As the first positive point I mentioned the world building, since this is really remarkable. Every NPC has its story. The time progresses in the world as you progress with the story. There are news, books, story expanding sidequests, (optional) dialogues giving depth to the characters and, therefore, the world. Also the world overall makes sense. You have this orbs powering all kinds of machines even producing what you would call "magic". You also have an excellent combat system. Visible turn order with bonuses (varying on encounter), 6 different elements, 2 resources, combos, customization all adding strategy!
