Often brutal, always empowering, The Last Faith is an unholy alliance of metroidvania and soulslike.
The Last Faith thrives on merciless and precise combat, with a huge range of custom executions to perform.
Discover a formidable arsenal of melee weapons, arcane spells, and long-range firearms, allowing you to carve a path your own way.
Nonlinear exploration is at the core of The Last Faith. Gorgeous pixel art depicts an imposing gothic landscape. Journey along snow-dusted mountains and castles bathed in moonlight. Discover and upgrade a formidable range of tools for destruction.
Step into The Last Faith’s ravaged world as Eric, who awakens with no recollection of his immediate past. Soon he will discover he is in a race against time as his mind and conscience begins to deteriorate. His desire for salvation from this affliction sets him on a cursed mission that crosses paths with ancient religions and divinities.
Excellent combat and exploration/world design save what would otherwise feel like a so-so Blasphemous clone with rubbish plot and quest design. A shame the blend of Christianity, Steampunk, and Vapirism isn't used for much more than set dressing.
The Last Faith is a pretty good game. It's the perfect combination of Bloodborne and Castlevania. It feels like a successor to Blasphemous (though not quite as good).
Pros
- Good Story: An interesting narrative that you uncover through dialogue and exploration.
- Challenging Bosses: Some bosses are really tough — but in a good way. They're difficult, yet very rewarding to beat.
- Beautiful Graphics: This game has some of the best pixel art I’ve ever seen.
- Atmospheric Music: The music perfectly fits the tone and dark atmosphere of the game.
Cons
- Bugs: I encountered several bugs during my playthrough. Some enemies disappeared, and one boss stood still during combat (ironically, on my fifth try — a blessing in disguise).
- Laggy Controls: At times, the controls feel unpolished. For example, performing the same input twice may yield different results — one works, the other doesn't.
If you like Metroidvanias or enjoyed Blasphemous, this is a must-play!
Cheers to the devs for giving the main character an identity and not making him mute or genderless/shapeless.
The game has some brutal action, gothic feels dark AF, and I love it.
Its on the difficult side without TOO difficult, and dont let the 'metroidvania' scare you, you dont have to look around all day for things. Its really well done honestly, 5/5.
