THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2002

I don't understand how they can release this thing. It has X-Box 360 controller support but it doesn't show up in the controller options. It doesn't save the graphics options either. Just get an emulator designed to play Neo-Geo games to play this game. This is just ridiculous.

So I got this one for free because of some promotion or other idunno, I came to this page to see what I'm getting into, the reviews are all saying "Fixed Controls!? Worst game ever!" and, true, the controls are fixed but one thing that isn't mentioned here: full joystick support. at least for an Xbox controller. the game doesn't convey at all that you can even do that so I downloaded Joy2Key just for this game. after setting up the controls for that I realized the joystick inputs are combining with the Joy2Key inputs. After Turning J2K off I realized the pre set controls for this on an Xbox controller are nice. A and X for punch, Y and B for kick, Right bumper is coin insert, Start is, well, start. The controls work. Other than that the game itself is pretty awesome, I love a good SNK fighter. if you like street fighter and wish it had a team-style mechanic this game is pretty great, I'd rate it higher but the whole "controls" thing bumps it down. So if you have an Xbox Controller hooked up to your PC just use that. Idunno about other Controllers though.

King of Fighters 2002 is probably the second best KOF game behind KOF98. Huge character roster, every character has unique special attacks and combos making them fun to use, controls are fast and fluid, 1v1 & 3v3 matches, two player versus, single player tournament, Win/Mac/Linux compatible, modest hardware requirements, and gamepad (XInput) support. KOF2002 is a total package fighting game at only $6 (USD). For two controller versus play: Have 2P press COIN (R Bumper) then START. This is much like the arcade releases of SNK's Neo Geo games.

King of Fighters 2002 runs a close second behind KOF98, yet has the Linux support not offered in KOF98. The huge roster of playable characters, cool special attacks, combos, 1on1 matches, 3on3 matches, trademark Neo Geo graphics style, cool BGM, and tough-as-nails boss matches are all here in fine form. And, unlike KOF98, KOF2002 doesn't leave Linux and Mac users out in the cold. For two controller versus play: Have the 2P press COIN (R Bumper) then START. This is in line with the old Neo Geo arcades. You're welcome.

I love KoF, introduced to me by my friend but like others said, for a game ported to pc (ESPECIALLY PC) why cant we map the controls on the keyboard i mean i play with a controller and all but the keyboard controls are kinda messed up
