One of the most brilliant games ever.
The Dig is just a marvelous game, so deep and touching it quickly rises itself above the majority of point and click adventures. I played it when it came out, back in 1995, and truth is that I immediately fell in love with it. Way ahead of its time, The Dig is probably one of the best sci-fi adventure games ever made to date. In one word only: remarkable! The game tells the story of a group of astronauts sent to the surface of an asteroid in collision course with Earth and blow it to bits. But soon they'll know the asteroid is just an advanced vehicle to a far and lonely planet... and the real adventure begins... I'm not going to unfold any bits of the plot, since I'd just spoil the game, but what The Dig reveals next is just amazing in all senses. Playing it becomes the biggest life lesson you could ever get, especially from a video-game that was originally intended to be a movie. Too bad it didn't get to be a movie also, because it would be an instant hit! In summary, The Dig is as beautiful as entertaining; as deep in story as heart-touching; as underrated as unforgettable! Voices, dialogues, puzzles, game design, story, atmosphere... everything's just brilliant!
