Possibly the best classic adventure game
Music, art, writing for the time, this had it all, and if you like the genre, it's still one of the best.

Wonkey Island
About my Rating: A lot of people like "Curse", and it is a pretty good, laid back and goodlooking adventure game. After having played it all through again and being left with a sour aftertaste I decided to be more aligned with my true feelings and just give it 2/5. 1997:s longing for Monkeys: I bought "Curse" in 1997 because it was a new "Monkey Island" game, and as a such, it is disappointing, but I am happy they created it. It was one of the last adventure games to come out for a good while, in a time when humanity got plagued by the spreading of Windows and the Internet, and all that came with it. Sound and Graphics: Music couldn't be better, even though it is different, and the voice acting is great. :) Graphics look really good, but ... The Characters: look wonky. Their reactions seem unnatural, and just fit the story the creators wants to tell. Especially Guybrush's relationship with Elaine feels different. Spoilfree about the Story: "Curse" supposedly starts where Monkey Island 2 ended, but it's a parallell "monkeyverse", and the story feels cheap in comparison. The awkward humour: is not as good. Puzzles: There are many Try Everything Puzzles that you understand after you solved them. "Curse" is better played on "regular" mode, unless you really have learned to love the game. The Curse: You get into the game, and it is ok. It is one of the best non-Ron-Monkey Islands. Maybe you like "Curse" better if you play it first, but make sure to get your head straight with Monkey Island 1 and 2 too. ps: i did not buy on gog because I have the original cd:s from 1997.
