A worth experience that loves its past
Some games deliveries great visual and become remembered due them. Well, this game delivers a superb musical experience. And some goofy jokes with the touch of InXile. This is a game born from crowdfunding and, thus, is more inclined to remind us of the ancient trilogy that preceded it. Although at simple glance it seems to be an FPS, it is not. It is more akin to Grimrock: Your map has grids where you can move (an advanced option will let you see the grid). As a consequence, you have simple interactions with the environment. The game excels with its audio work, on particular the songs. There is even a lore reason for listen to them all the time. On graphics, at the ultra settings, the game did a decent job. While doing exploration if you see a building at the distance probably you will be able to get there at some point. The game has puzzles that are fun and diverse. Yet, for the last dungeons they could become tedious. The combat is fun, easy, but hard to master. There are four classes and three attributes. Each class has a tree skill that lets you take different paths. Items will boost one or more of your attributes, and thus they become crucial. Finally, you can create customs NPC companions that will have interactions with the others! The UI for the combats has some serious problem once your party is full. At least for playing solely with the keyboard. You will find that sometimes is hard to force the character to move to the space you want. There is also a problem with the IA, which from time to time it will hang before taking all its turns. Exploration, and sneak, is key, but like old games, you can end facing too powerful enemies. Yet, you will get a fair warning. And you can be sure the enemies will mock you each time they can. Finally, you can play with keyboard and controller at the same time, in my case an X-Box controller. But for using the menus I had to make use of the keyboard. Still, the exploration is more friendly with the controller.
