Description

The 7th Circle - Endless Nightmare is a First Person Dungeon Crawler RPG for hardcore gamers. Inspired by classic games from the 90s, the game adds new juicy features to modernize a classic genre of role playing games.
The 7th Circle - Endless Nightmare is a journey into your subconscious; each character, each Alter Ego, represents a different personality, but they are all sharing the same goal: to discover what is hidden in the darkest part of your mind and free it from its demons.
The blood slowly flows down from your wrists. You're about to faint...you are finally going to die, you know it. The blade falls from your hand. You hit the floor in a puddle of blood.
You are dying. And this is just the beginning of your journey.

The game has a dark and creepy tone with a good amount of violence and gore. The gameplay isn't set in a specific time period, but the setting is more like a mix of different elements, some from the past (like old weapons or the dungeons themself) and some from a more modern era (like tv screens), while all the cutscenes are clearly set in the present.

Create your Alter Ego customizing attributes, skills, personality, traits and perks.

Perma-Death: use only one character at a time. If he dies, you have to create a new one.

Unlock new items, resources and power-ups to help future Alter Ego in their journey.

19 huge levels + randomly generated dungeons for tons of hours of gameplay.

INFERNO mode.

More than 60 spells.

You can craft items, create medicines and upgrade weapons: collect resources and share them between your characters.

Turn-based combat. Use different equipment, spells, skills, medicines, throwing weapons and other items to fight your enemy.

Secrets, hidden walls and buttons, timed events and a lot of stuff to discover.

Innovative, fun hidden gem

Criminally underhyped gridcrawled, turn-based delve game. Clear character customization and everything you would expect in stats, with a surprisng amount of customization in how the game will play befor you even start. All of the typical trappings we know and love are here: chests, monsters, spells, light crafting, survival, some encumbrance management and tense, fun turn based combat. What is novel with this game, aside from the theme of being one of the last humans alive in a world ravaged by demons, is that positioning in combat with regard to distance is a factor. Moving, defending and positioning your character to survive and succeed is simple but meaningful and it adds a layer to combat that I have not seen in this genre. There are also mechanics revolving around the phases of the moon, how to cast and learn spells, and at least one really interesting mini-game of closing black-holes via strategically moving it along a randomized 'board game path'. Overall, just a really interesting, well-crafted and fun game from a VERY small team of devs making a game you just KNOW they did becasue they wanted to play it and it didn't exist. Highly recommended.

Old School Difficulty, Modern Design

I like the CONCEPT of a lot of classic games rather than the games themselves because modern advances like mouse compatibility, hovering tool tips, min-maps...they've spoiled me. Thankfully there's a middle ground between the complexity and challenge of the past and the convenience of the future! I personally love dungeon crawlers and this one is easy to get into but has a lot of options and although it does punish you for failure it has a unique mechanic of your next 'persona' character being able to improve upon the last by willing equipment and bonuses to the next one in line. This game rewards you for playing, rewards you for replaying, and even rewards you for losing since you can get permanent benefits if you sacrifice a certain amount of characters through their expeditions. The aesthetic is right up my alley. There's a bit of generic fantasy here with spells and melee weapons and armor but there's also a grungy nightmarish look to the demonic monsters and the creepy locales which is much more interesting than dwarves and elves and dragons all over again. It's the kind of drop in and play, navigate, weigh equipment, plan on character progression, groan as a run of bad luck brings one adventure to an end, cheer when you learn a secret spell or advance a level and kick a tough demon in the tail section. Simple but with breadth. Generic, but with a twist. It is NOT a cake walk but that makes it feel all the more rewarding.

Pulled me in..

So, once in a while I crave old school games, hence GOG. This game is certainly able to scratch the old-school dungeon crawler itch, whilst bringing it's own modern flavor. Fantastic and difficult, I look forward to my time with this game.

Very good roguelite dungeon crawler

This reminds me of old school Dungeon Hack but turn based and roguelike which are mechanics I love so that makes the game much more enjoyable for me. You can customize a lot of what your play experience will be like and there are different games modes +optional random maps and lots of character builds so replayability value is pretty high for such a low cost title. If you are a old school gamer who loves dungeon crawlers you will enjoy this one a lot but I would suggest starting on a higher difficulty level since normal is a bit too easy (no need to worry if you are looking for a challenge the higher difficulties can get absurdly hard). This is the only dungeon crawler I've seen with roguelite elements and I love the concept. I am eager to try out the sequel once I'm done with this one and looking forward to their future projects.
