It's April 2043 and you—as Tex Murphy, the last of the old-style gumshoes—find yourself racing against time in the most dangerous game of your life. What is the truth behind the rumored UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexico? Why did the military suddenly shut down and seal off the Roswell complex? And why the frequent references to the lost Mayan civilization?

The Pandora Directive features:


⭐ Unrestricted movement. The unique "Virtual World" engine allows you to slip under desks, rifle through drawers, and see the flies tanning in the light fixtures. Without the restrictions of rendered paths, you can explore Tex's three-dimensional world with full freedom of movement. 

⭐ The most replayability of any interactive movie to date. Follow one of three narrative paths leading to seven different endings. Are you a hard-nosed but honest P.I. struggling to overcome the forces of greed and corruption? Or a cynical opportunist who may have to "sell out" principles top score the big payoff? Perhaps you'll fall somewhere in between. Your choices could reveal more about yourself than you'd really like to know. 

⭐ Two levels of play. The first level offers a complete on-line hint system to help you through the tougher puzzles. The second level—for expert gamers—has no hints available but rewards players with higher bonus points, extra puzzles and locations.

For some reason, the game has issues

For some reason, the game is working badly on my computer. When I am switching between walk mode and inspection mode the screen looks like a duplicated wallpaper made of miniature game screen for a few seconds, before being playable again. This happening every-time makes the games unplayable because of the number of time you switch modes. UAKM worked pretty fine, I did not test Overseer so far, what I do not get is that I already have the steam version of Pandora directive and it works flawlessly, even if they seems the exact same dropbox version. This being said, the game itself is incredible, Tex Murphy is one of the best characters and set of stories ever made. So before you play Tesla Effect (a masterpiece) grab the full series anyway.

+Story -Controls -Linux version broken

+5 If you buy the game it's for the story. -1 The control scheme is a downside of the game. The world is 3D and perspective is 1st person. You switch the mouse control scheme with spacebar. There is point and click for scene investigation which is the good part. The bad part is the mouse movement through 3D space while the view/camera is arrow key controlled. This contradicts common sense and makes navigation to the next point of interest a troublesome experience. -2 Installed on Ubuntu 18.04.6LTS, starting the game results in segmentation fault caused by the dosbox that is packed together with the game. Platform dosbox 0.74 runs smoothly. It's a pity that GOG does neither manage to test their releases, nor to use platform libs instead.

I can't get it to load on my Xp Diminision 3000 What must I do to get it to load I bought this game. Whwn I try to download it saysSetup files are corrapted Please download A new copy of this.

Know our way around a computer first.

Was really looking forward to playing this series but the game doesn't launch in Dosbox without messing about changing lines in the program. Just beware before buying.
