Tetrobot and Co.

Nothing bad to say about Tetrobot and Co. You will notice first that the game is really gorgeous, with a super clean and cute 2D. Then it is pretty easy to play (meaning that you never get confused with controls). Then the puzzles.... It is impressive how far the developers have gone in mind blowing situations with a concept that looks simple. You absorb and throw blocks to solve puzzles, each block has its own properties (just like Blocks That Matter). Then you just move on the screen the same way as a point & click game (forgetting all controls issues in BTM), hopefully until the level's exit, fortunately with the three bonus blocks of each level. The entire game is based on that concept, and yes it's enough to produce a quiet long game. So in the end, it's gorgeous, it's clever, it's hard at some point, it's also cute and funny. It's a must buy for all puzzle-lovers, and a highly recommended game for everyone else.

I haven't played first sequel of the game, but this one is a terrific puzzle game! It reminds me on boulder dash from commodore 64 (or supaplex on pc), but it is more biased towards the logic and thinking, less on reflexes. It gives you enough challenges and motivation to keep going until the very last end. Unfortunately, there are some serious bugs that has to be addressed. First, square click detection is bad. You click on one square and psychobot moves or takes block from the square that is adjacent to one you actually clicked even if you clicked square dead center. Considering that squares are quite large enough, it is still not clear how click detection is so bad. Second, undo feature is horrible! It works fine for the first levels, but as you progress it gets quite buggy that sometimes you have to restart the level all over. Blocks that you collected and destroyed later (tnt or burnt wood) are not at your disposal when you do undo (psychobot does throwing animation but there is no block from him) so you have to click on undo until you reach point when you first collected blocks. Not to mention that undo can get you in the situation that is impossible. Sometimes you can even cheat with undo feature. Game deserves plain 5 stars, but gameplay is ruined in later stages because of these. I hope that authors will patch the game soon.

Your goal is to control a tiny bot and find a way out to the next level. In order do do so you you have to move blocks of various natures (sand, gass, metal, etc.) each with its own physics, and move them around conveniently. The exit is not that hard to reach, but if you're in for more challenge you can try and collect some secrets: three golden memory block in each level. While it doesn't seem that original this game is genuily exceptional. The controls are well thought and a pleasure to use, the design of the blocks and their properties is perfect, the level design is a true masterpiece, absolutely flawless. It's easy on the eye, the sountrack is pure ear candy, and their are a wealth of unlockables that make this game one of the most generous and player friendly ever. The whole just oozes charm and good vibes. Highly recommended! I you enjoy this game, have a look at "Blocks that Matter", the previous one by Swing Swing Submarine. Same universe, different gameplay mechanics, and absolutely terrific too. These too games easily rank among the very best puzzle games ever. Period.

I was a little afraid, because somebody wrote something about a platformer -- and I normally don't play platformers, because they fast become incredible frustrating to me. But this game is no platformer, but a very intelligent puzzler. It is very interesting, what they made out of the very limited basics of the game. Also the puzzles are very challenging without becoming frustrating. All the puzzles are solvable by logic instead of hand-eye-coordination (like many platformers do). Very elaborate, challenging and fun. Full five.
