Great Game, Frustrating Digital Adoption
I have never played the physical board game. I seem to really like the game dynamics and have enjoyed playing this with friends remotely during the pandemic. However, the conversion from physical board game to digital experience seems subpar. I'd give the game itself ~4/5 but the digital adopted version ~2/5. Issues: At the beginning of gameplay your corporation and inventory does not show up on your game mat until after you select your cards, instead showing blanks and "CORP NAME" placeholders. This makes selecting your starting cards difficult as you can't view how many credits you have and your corporation's abilities. The interface is glitchy and stutters at time (Ex: you are not able to view your own cards all the time - sometimes they simply disappear and you can not view them until your turn. This makes planning moves much more difficult and slows game flow). You don't see your opponents' movements as they play them, but instead there are large pauses while nothing happens on screen if it is not your turn. Then in a moment, the game quickly rolls through the entire that turns actions in a matter of seconds (and the animations/on screen displays are hard to quickly follow what is happening). Would be much better if things were happening live/as the person plays them instead of pause/blitz pause/blitz. Hoping they update the digital version to be more of a fun smooth digital experience.
