Best Terminator game EVER

This is an FPS with RPG-like progression systems and a few choices that change the fate of certain characters and the ending, which is similar to original Fallout games - a set of slides that show the results of your decisions, so it's kinda of a "modular" ending system. Shooting is not great, but not terrible either. Most enemies are bullet sponges, but here it's absolutely justified (they are made of metal!). This is not a problem because you can deal with those enemies by doing stealth kills, blowing them up with grenades, bombs, or (my favorite) - lure them into trip-laser traps. You have plenty of choice here and can play the game in different styles. RPG systems (skills, inventory, weapon upgrades, shops) are VERY bare bones, but in a good way. There's just no extra crap you don't need, every item has it's use. Exactly the way I like these mechanics to be. Very satisfactory. Graphics are 2014-ish. Outdated for sure, but considering this is NOT an AAA game (but not an Indie as well, something in between - the perfect sweet spot), graphics are great. Performance is perfect, fast loads, high FPS all around on max settings. UE4 really shows it's strengths here. Story is absolutely awesome. May be a bit predictable, especially for hard-core fans of Terminator films, but very still great. It's true to the original films in every way. It only relates to the first 2 films, not the later ones. Verdict: MUST buy for every gamer who loved the original Terminator films and also loves FPS. A very satisfying story in a competently put together gameplay package.

Punches well above its weight

This game is more immersive and fun than anything I've played from AAA studios in a long time. It absolutely nails the atmosphere and the menacing look of the Machines, writing is decent to good for the most part, and exploring the city rubble while avoiding (or hunting, depending on your weaponry and confidence) Terminators is enjoyable. It actually reminded me of a scaled down version of modern Fallout games at times, except with less jank and better atmosphere and combat. A few things could've used a bit more work though. On hard difficulty ammo and medkits were abundant enough that I never used the crafting system and never spent skill points on it until there was no other place to put them. That lack of resource scarcity coupled with a rather powerful plasma sniper rifle you find in your very first mission for the Resistance if you explore just a little did take away from the tension, which is a shame because generally speaking the game does a good job of conveying how outmatched a human with conventional fire arms is against even a single basic T-800. The skill system as a whole could definitely be fleshed out, most skills either act as a gatekeeper for which weapons you can use or which level of locks/terminals you can pick/hack and others are minor quality of life improvements that are never truly needed. AI is pretty bad unfortunately. Granted many of Skynet's decisions and designs in the franchise as a whole are quite dubious, but this is probably the one part of the game that felt noticeably underdeveloped. Machines don't seem to alert one another when they have detected you or communicate at all for that matter, and Terminators will happily march single file into the line of fire of a turret you hacked, each of them responding with surprise when it kills them one by one. Apart from the AI nothing about this game is outright bad and most of it is pretty awesome. A must play if you like the first two movies, still highly recommended for everyone else.

Good FPS

I really didn't know what to expect coming into this, but I know what I got. Terminator: Resistance is a solid FPS made the way they used to make FPS. You can also have intercouse with the females in the game and your decisions will affect the NPC's. Apart from the intercouse, which I honestly don't get in a video game, Terminator: Resistance is good fun. Not that the intercouse part is not fun, it's just weird. You get better weapons as you progress and there is a sneak element to the game also. The story is what you would except in an early 2000's FPS and it fits perfectly. It's a good game.

One of the few good movie-based games

Classic FPS with a little bit of RPG (Skill-Tree, Crafting...) and stealth, and some non-grinding, not repetitive side quests you can accomplish during your main missions.
