a good game, but it has so many problems
tangledeep gives of a good first impression, i really like the musik and the pixel art, but the longer i play it, the more little problems i find and the more they pile up. the worst thing about it is, that theses problems seem easily avoidable and that the game seems, like it could have been way better, with just a few changes. the games target audience seems to be casual gamers and roguelike/rpg beginners for what feels like more than 90% of the time, but then you meet the occasional op enemy, or even a bunch of them. when i die in tangledeep, it allmost never feels like it's my fault, which makes losing a charakter, that i invested multiple hours in, even more frustrating. in other roguelikes dying teases you to play another round, in tangledeep dying makes me want to stop playing and this isn't the only reason, why i often just end the game. tangledeep seems comlpex to learn at first, but the game quickly seems, like you're not even supposed to learn that much, like you're just supposed to play and ignore most of the numbers. the game might as well not even have visible numbers, because it doesn't really tell you what they do anyway. this also makes leveling up, or finding new equipment really unsatisfying really quick, because why are you supposed to be happy about a higher number, when you don't even know, what it does? too much of the info to understand this game, is not included in the game and i really don't like having to look things up in a wiki. pets, the dreamcaster and trees mostly seem to exist for players, that die a lot, but how are you supposed to know that as a player? pets level up with the players xp, so you have to catch one close to your level, or it's worthless, until you die and start over, because it doesn't get any xp from same level monsters and dies too quickly from stronger monsters. there is so much more to complain about, but after all, i'd still recommend playing the game, you should just know, what you're getting into...
