System Shock

And this is a very good thing, keeping themes and some detail but adding tons and very close to original content. This game is much more available for people who want to play a Scifi shooter with horror and hi tech gadgetry. You play a Cyborg now you can be a girl, options are optional. The loot or resources if you like are much more ready and usable. I have only done a bit of cyberspace but it is awesome, and irl hacking or rigging is pretty good too. I love the more open expansive areas and exploration all the while you can look out a window and see space or the station and instantly feel claustrophobic. Weapons also seem very improved and like it says above plays like a shooter so more fun in combat. I had to upgrade my pc but that won't be a problem for most, once you meet reqs it runs well. I will say I love the original and the sequel so I am probably biased

Some of the levels can be a bit confusing, and the design while perhaps intentional can be a bit overwhelming with the lighting. I enjoy the music aside from the new elevator music. Weapons all feel pretty good. Definitely play if you enjoyed the original. It should appeal to many others that enjoy 'boomer shooters' also.

I have never played the original System Shock before, so when I saw this game was on sale, I just had to pick it up. Man, I was not disappointed. It's a fun and challenging experience, especially when you try to find all there is to explore. There were a lot of moments where I had to look up a guide in order to know what to do next. This really only happened once I reached the last 30% of the game or so. Again, I wanted to unlock the most I could so some of the guides were for that as opposed to being a walkthrough of the main missions. Overall, a fantastic game with beautiful visuals. Truly immersive!

This game is just a gem. No handholding and excellent remake of the original System Shock. All the tension and unpredicatbility of the encounters make this game a real blast to play. Strongly recommended for those looking for a deep and interesting game.

Great exploration, atmosphere, puzzles, and difficulty make this remaster a fine addition to the immersive sim genre. Can't think of anything more to say other than I'm hoping for a similar remaster of System Shock 2!
