Description
Includes Syndicate and the American Revolt expansion.
In the dark and twisted cities of tomorrow, corporate syndicates compete for global dominance. But the boardroom deals and corporate takeovers of the future look very different from today: they are lead by marketing directors who manage teams of half-men, half-machine cyborgs with no conscience and plenty of guns.
You are an ambitious marketing director in the Syndicate, hand-picked to lead a team of cyborg mercenaries. You work in the problem-solving department and you are damn good at "taking care" of problems. Some might say that violence is not the answer but you know better. There here are hardly any problems that you can't solve with a well-placed bullet. Collateral damage in the local population and infrastructure during the “negotiations” is, as always, acceptable. After all, what would you expect form the dystopian futuristic world run by mega-corporations?
Syndicate is Bullfrog’s masterpiece of a game in which you aren’t saving the world or protecting innocents. You just make sure that your employers get what they want. At your disposal are four cyborg agents, an impressive arsenal of weapons and gadgets, and a massive selection of cybernetic upgrades. You are free to unleash this power on a highly interactive map where you can blow up buildings, steal cars, light trees on fire, or just shoot stuff. Produced by Peter Molyneux himself, Syndicate is the essence of cyberpunk and, with its great music, stylized visuals, and mind-blowing atmosphere, it has earned its place among the best games of all time. Make sure to check out the game that secured Bullfrog's place in game development hall of fame.
sorry game does not work probably. Maybe if you familiar with dos and dosbox and do a lot of configuration. But if you just download and play, it does not work.
No sound, window very small
Would be 5/5, but unpurchasable due to Origin's inclusion. If this was simply a rating of the game it'd be 5 stars all the way, however this really how much I could recommend purchasing it in this format. Massive mistake on GoG's part.
Since when has a GoG game required accepting a EULA? I won't purchase this game for that reason alone. But the rumors that EA Origins is required to play just adds to my unease. This is completely against the GoG concept. If this is the way they are heading...I'll be getting my games elsewhere...and I have bought A LOT of games on this site.
That's my take on the advertising blurb on this game's store page and the seething miasma of positive fanboi reviews, a lot of rectums have shat many a review here! I mean, How the holy F did this get multiple "Best Game Of All Time" awards? The graphics are ugly, as are the sounds and music, the UI absolutely STINKS, you can not see enemies nor your units inside or behind buildings and the difficulty / tedium level goes of the scale after 10 or so missions. It's repetitive too. It's just a much less cerebral Cannon Fodder type game or rather low quality. Ok, maybe in 93 I'd have seen it differently. I did actually play this in the late 90's and was not impressed even then - and had to use cheats all the way through.
BTW I wasn't daft enough to actually *buy* this, it came free. Good job!
PS/ Other bad review issues such as "Origin DRM", "lack of American Revolt DLC" and "DosBox" - well I've not seen this "Origin" at all, so GOG seem to have removed it, the DLC is now included, and I don't mind DosBox - no my issue is that it is a poor game.
