Having played and totally loved Syberia I & II, when I saw Syberia III on sale for $19.99, I had to buy it. Didn't buy before because of DRM at other places, love GOG for the lack of DRM. The graphics were vastly improved. As others have said, lip synching was poor, could be because of it being translated from French. Story was ok, puzzles acceptable. I really miss Oscar, but knew he was gone. He played a great part in the first two. Would buy again for the sale price or would wait for the price to drop, but would buy again. Really good real adventure games rare these days. Except for Syberia III and Obduction, there hasn't been a very good/excellent true adventure game in years. So compared to the other "adventure" games as of late Syberia III is great.
I really liked the first 2 Syberia games, and wanted to try and complete this one.
However I only got a few hours into it before giving up.
Often (90% of the time) when interacting with anything the mouse cursor will disappear, and not return until you exit the scren you're looking at, or somehow get it to hover over another interactive point on the screen (which is hard to do when invisible) It just feels like it wasn't tested with PC controls, because this is horrendous. Especailly with a couple of the puzzles which involves widing a clock, and something random to do with a model boat that I couldn't work ot.
So that's it, I've given up. And I won't be buying any more Syberia games.
Other than that the graphics are nice, the music is nothing special, and the voices are just average, they do their job. However often the subtitles don't qutie match the auio dialogue.
And there is no quck save, why? Sometimes the auto save doesn't happen when you complete a puzzle, but when you exit the screen.
Cannot recommend this game. Just play the first 2.
Many reviews said the control is bad, it really is, I needed to play it with my xbox one controller with the mouse to make it work easier, however other then that, the game is still great like 1 and 2, love the story and graphics and hope 4 is coming zoon.
this game is HORRIBLY BROKEN to the point of being unplayable. It's impossible to play without downloading saves from support site and some of them don't work anyway. Can't finish, can't skip dialogue, can't skip cutscenes
Story and characters have almost nothing in common with previous titles.
Just play Syberia 1 & 2 and AVOID THIS ONE
didn't play too long. I wasn't interested in listening to EVERY dialogue (I usually enable subtitles, skipping most dialogues due to having them read already). You cannot skip these.
Also, text: Kate Walker. Not just Kate, you, girl, whatever - no, it's Kate Walker. In every damn dialogue.
Too bad part 1 and 2 don't work too well on 4k screens - I need my magnifier to play those :( but these were definitely better, gameplay wise.
