I upgraded my mom's old PC specifically to play this game. In hindsight: get something better than a GT1030, which is not a bad card, just not enough to play this game at high graphics settings.
No, my 2 star review isn't because of that, but because of the stupid game-breaking bugs. My mom is 71 y/o and she has already completed Syberia 1 and 2, and has been waiting for years to play this one.
However, she's encountered the bug at Baranour that doesn't allow you to continue. You can't do anything at all, it's like a softlock.
How old is this game already? Why hasn't Microids fixed this in 7 years since their last update? Now what? Do we have to look in third-party websites for a game save that hopefully solves this?
I enoyed the first to entries in this series but this game is just unplayable, probably 12fps max. This is running on a pc with far above the required specifications.
The story, the characters and the atmospheres are always great and in line with the previous chapters. What really bothers it's the control mechanics and the infinite loading screens! Moving in big scenarios like Valsembor was sometimes frustrating.
Nevertheless, it's worth playing if you like the saga.
I first came across the Syberia series via "The world before" and really enjoyed it so decided to play the rest in order, really enjoyed the other 3 but 3 seems to lack the same good story line of the other 3
Syberia 1 and 2 are absolute gems of gaming, all I wanted for 3 was the same engine but with widescreen support, that's all it needed. But noooooo. We have to create the worst 3D game ever made with the worst controls any living being could come up with, and then of the gamer had any hope left we will destroy it with terrible puzzles, terrible voice acting. This game has ruined a perfect legacy of the previous games. Socal should be ashamed of this monstrosity disguised as a game...
And I don't like it ✋😑🤚
