Worse than its predecessor
As someone that played SWAT III - Close Quarters Battle, I can surely say that SWAT IV is a downgrade of such greate game. The Officers AI is poor, they don't have the same independance that SWAT III Officers had. The criminals seem more intelligent than my own AI companions. The score requirements for each difficulty, although is something nice, it prevents the player to have a full experience. The best way to have 100 points on Elite Difficulty is by having all your loadout as Pacifist with Pepper Gun, Taser or other Less Lethal weapons/bullets as one reaction out of time would count as "unauthorized use of lethal force". Yeah, because the criminal pointing a AK on me, hitting my legs, arms, torso and as I take him out the game subtracts 10 points is very fair. Why the Lead and his Officers are so glass-like that even a shot taken from the weakest weapon in the game instakill them?

One of the best
This game, despite the its age, keeps its class, not because of its outdated graphics but because of how it manages to immerse you in the action, with those interactive menus that revolutionised the industry back in 2005.

Still Holds Up In 2025
This is still one of the best squad based FPS games out there. It's about 20 years old at this point but the game still holds up in most aspects. The AI can be a little jank and the mission scoring system can be a little harsh. The mission variety is pretty good and the game excels at creating an atmosphere of uneasiness in most levels. The infamous serial killer/house level is a great example of this. The music is top notch and really gets you in the mood. If you liked Ready or Not and want to play the game that originally inspired it, definitely check this game out. You owe it to yourself to play it if you're a fan of slow paced, tactical FPS games.
