Truthful, Accurate Recounting of History
Impressive in its historical scope and accuracy, choices that matter, bug-free (For my playthrough, anway). Educational and enjoyable to play, though not necessarily "fun" due to the heavy subject matter. The actors were well-cast and did a great job. This game would make an excellent tool in schools to help young folks engage more with history in a way that helps them connect choices to consequences, and thoughts & speech to actions. I remember history being the most boring subject as a kid – if we had immersive tools like this back in the 90s, I know it would have positively impacted my ability to connect with the past in a way that was engaging and memorable. But alas, I grew up in a time where “learning history” meant “memorize these dates without any real context” and the only historically relevant game available to me was “The Oregon Trail.” The text is a decent size and a done with a clean, highly readable sans serif font. This shouldn’t be such a big deal, but too many games offer their text either microscopically small or in some quirky font that gives one a headache to read, which makes them inaccessible for folks like me. So thank you for that, developers! I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank the one-star reviews for convincing me to purchase the game! And not even on sale, I paid full price to support the wonderful developer. Any time I see Holocaust deniers getting triggered by a video game (or book, or film, etc), it's basically a "Shut-Up-And-Take-My-Money" scenario. (Also, I feel confident that both fake reviews are the same person, since they're from the EXACT SAME DAY an entire year and a half after the game's release, and one of the accounts has 0 purchases on GOG. At least be smart about it if you're gonna be a troll, folks.) FINAL SCORE: A++ Highly recommended
