Super Hexagon

As other people already noted, this game is a completely useless waste of time on the PC. Nausea inducing visuals don't help either, but the bottom line is that playing this game as anything else than a time waster on a mobile device is pretty much... well, a waste of your time. Even then, this game offers very little outside of frustration and a headache after you're done. Pointless piece of software.

I felt Ripped off it starts up WAY TOO FAST it's instantly bang you are straight in the wall it's fucking sh*t! WTF GOG this is a disgrace! this doesn't belong here Go ahead and try it it's too damn fast there is no easing in period this game is UNWINNABLE it is a sick friggin joke! you can't move fast enough I am Not 6 nor do I have those hyper ninja reflexes anymore that this game REQUIRES! don't get it it is a waste of money!

In short, it is average made bad. You are supposed to navigate a grid-like hexagon maze trying to avoid walls that are closing in. The keyword is trying. The first problem is that the controls are very sensitive due to the fast pace of the game, making it impossible to do small positional corrections with a smallest movement moving the player around for a whopping 50 degrees and there is no setting for keyboard sensitivity. With the hexagon, a tap to move one hexagon block would have been much more sensible and less stressful control scheme as currently I spent a lot of effort just to stay on a particular hex edge. Graphics are atrocious, but not in the looks kind of way. The fact that the hexagon in the middle pulses around cause serious eyestrain, especially with the coinciding mini-zoom-ins and mini-zoom-outs in rapid successions to give the pupils the full contract work-out. The colours were not much better and one of the prototypes sports red-yellow colour scheme, which could be very hazardous to epileptics. Lastly, the animation was nowhere as smooth as in the pulsing will make the walls to appear to be skipping. Very often I lost the game unavoidably as the pulse timed so that the wall skipped so close that it was impossible to dodge even with the super-fast turning, you barely see it coming, let alone have time to react. The walls visibly move back and forth with the pulse, obfuscating their actual position and making them look like they are further away than they actually are. Music is basic chip tune stuff that is all over the "8-bit" niche these days. The music seems to affect the pulsing, meaning that randomly having a highly pulsing track will make the game harder to play an enjoy in exchange for a minor visual flourish. The ultimate problem with the game is that there is no goals in it. The time-based high score is laughably 1980s it's not even funny. It provides no incentives to play it -- there is nothing to do. Tempest in 1981 had stuff to shoot.
