It is what it was supposed to be

I can't really blame the reviewers for being disappointed, but mind you, this DLC is what it was supposed to be. Devs advertised it as a relaxing and easy ride meant to let you chill. This DLC is not about high scores or crazy speed and obstacles, no. It's more akin to popping bubble wrap if you know what I mean. Might seem pointless in the long run, but it's still enjoyable. And if it's enjoyable, it's actually not at all pointless. I, for one, am happy with my purchase of Sunrise. The music is calming and I haven't found it annoying after a while like some other reviewer and the scenery is pretty enough. It is possible to produce lines on the water by cutting it with your ship's wings (happens when you are turning left or right), which is a nice little touch. I see Sunrise not only as a means of relaxation, though, I see it as an easy mode of Race the Sun, the opposite of Apocalypse. I'm giving it a 4/5 rating because I believe it could use some more elements for world generation. Other than that, I think it's a fair deal for its low price... provided you fully realize this product is a digital bubble wrap.

Beutiful to watch, boring to play

Many one before called this DLC utterly boring, but its hard to believe them seeing nice screenshots. Unfortunately, they generally correct. While putting a lot of fantasy (in all means) in that new mode developers forgot to put any meaning. Literally, you just fly over ocean, encountering some rocks, jump pads, islands with various castles and buildings. There is birds, dragons, dolphins and stuff. Really zen like. Fun? Maybe for 5 minutes. No goal, no events in games. You can still die by hitting things, so its not "100% relax mode". After 5 minutes of play only thing you can try to do is to get on roofs of that building. I wasnt able to imagine anything else. Most unpleasant thing, btw, is that DLC itself included in main game. DLC provided here is literally small unlock file to activate it. Why didnt thy added it as free addition? Many blame Flipfly for breaking whole point of game, but naturally Race the sun is pretty limited and straightforward game, there is not much to add or remove - they had either repeat themself in DLC or make something opposite. They chosen second, but not really succeeded with it. Anyway, i will not say "Dont buy" since i dont feel like money i paid was wasted totally. Flipfly certainly had some interesting idea while making this DLC. But i suggest you to wait for some big sale and get it cheap since its not add a lot of value to game.

Not worth your time or money.

This feels like it should have been a free upgrade. As previously noted in the other review (as my original has still not appeared), this is dull. They've stripped out any purpose in playing and added a horrendously dull new bit of soundtrack along with a few bits of scenery. My advice: don't purchase it. Cheap as it is, you could get a decent classic on a weekend promo for that price and avoid this dissappointingly hollow DLC.

Space is ... boring????

Well, this addition to an otherwise fascinating, incredibly frustrating but nevertheless still immensly amusing game tells us on how not to do it. The setting has changed: we are flying over an ocean on a distant planet. There are birds, dragons, rocks and buildings. And tris ... yes you can still collect them even though there is no point in doing so, except for highscore. End of review. Why? Because there is nothing more to say. The music is dull after a while, there is no real challenge, no surprises and I still have not been able to figure out whether this crystal has some kind of effect; I do not believe so, but please prove me wrong on this point. Also reaching the top of those gigantic flying rocks felt somewhat anticlimactic. It all comes down to one phrase: what is the point of it all?

Can't buy it

I bought Race the Sun via HIB, but I can't buy just the DLC here, I have to buy Race the Sun again.
