Great improvement to the previous games
This game is on a completely other level than the previous ones. I already enjoyed the first games (Mask of Arcadius and Liberation Day), but this one beats them by far. The story is very epic, while also showing a lot of character growth for our captain and the crew. It might start on the slow side (it gives kind of Mass Effect 2 vibes at times), but the payoff in the end is great. The combat system got some big changes compared to the previous games (while still giving the same feeling) and is even more enjoyable than before. The previous games' combat system had admittedly a few frustrating parts, which all have been solved in the new combat system. It'd take quite some time to get into the details, but if you're not convinced I can just suggest to watch some videos. The game is longer than Liberation Day, especially if you do all side quests (I think I finished the game after around 20 hours on Steam) and has a NG+, to fully enjoy the combat. From a technical point of view, this game is probably the most accessible of the series, especially since the combat system is less punishing. However, I think new players might have a hard time connecting to the story. While there is a short summarization of the previous story ingame (and in the game's discussion forum on steam there are some videos outlining previous events), I think without experiencing them (especially Liberation Day) it might be hard to connect to the characters.
