The developers have apparently abandoned the GOG version and are only supporting the Steam version. Steam got a recent winter Christmas update with new content as well as a new DLC addon for purchase and GOG buyers got absolutely nothing. So, we are an update or two behind the Steam version and the "Demons of the Past" DLC isn't currently available here on GOG at the time of writing this review and the developers haven't responded on GOG forums or Steam forums as to when or if it will ever be available here. Also, right now as of writing this review, it's selling for CHEAPER on Steam than it is here on GOG! $21.24 here on GOG with only a 15% sale and Steam gets a 23% off sale so it's $19.24 there. So you pay more on here for an inferior version of the game with less content. Infuriating! =(

We deserve the patches, the DLCs and the goodies, we are paying customers. Even if the game was updated and all its content available, it is a poor game, and without the sex it would be worth nothing. But in our puritan gaming industry, it's still nice to have normal games with sex (as opposed to porn games that are only about sex).

After seiing some screenshots and reading very good reviews I was totally triggered and gave it a try. I played several hours to get an impression. I love this gothic brutal sexy graphic style. Technically I had to choose a resolution of 1.024 x 768 and middle details to be able to play it fluently. Despite that chosen resolution I had several crashes and other technically glitches. In my opinion the inventory and the menu to buy weapons needs much more polish. It is not shown or clear why I can't buy special weapons deeper in the list? I played the first two locations several times and that was fun, after that the combat started to remain dull and tedious. In the third location I had to change to the easiest difficulty story mode. The game reminds me to painkiller with picks. Often It throws endless boring waves against the player. I would say the game is moderate at most, the graphic style is gorgeous, but the game mechanics are nearly bad. It would have been better to choose another genre for this concept of game. How about a hardcore card game or a fighting game with a gothic match 3 style? Please consider that in the future. I think, it is important to support this kind of adult games to get more stuff like this.

Let's just get one thing immediately straight, this game is not for everyone. An abundance of grotesque gore, perversion and some of the most awful stuff I've ever seen in my life. Within my first 15 minutes of playing I had pretty much made up my mind that I didn't like it. I'm no stranger to horror and gore, my last 20 years have been filled with an abundance of horror movies and extreme metal music galore and yet still this game almost broke me - at first. However I stuck around for a bit just to see where things would go. Surprisingly the combat is highly addictive. I wouldn't call it brilliant, in fact it's kind of mind numbing at times, however there is just something about cleaving through swarms of slave humans and demons that gets rather enjoyable after a while. The graphics are pretty good and deliver a believable vision of what Hell could look like. The game is grotesque to look at in the absolutely best way possible. A couple of hours into the game I found myself rather enjoying it a fair bit. Unlocking the next armor or weapon, finding the next hidden items and getting the next unlockables got pretty addictive for me. If you can get past the initial shock of how absolutely vile this game is, there is a surprising amount of entertainment to be found here, especially considering the modest asking price. I'd recommend it to people with the right amount of stomach for it or for those who were just curious of what a Hell looks like in Warhammer 40k (Trust me, it's something similar to this for sure!)
