Stronghold Crusader HD

This is actually a pretty good game all things considered. The graphics are nice, the game play is smooth, but the game is so bloody hard that it actually sucks the joy out of it. If you want to play a game for pure enjoyment, I would not recommend this game, but if you want to play a game that requires a lot of skill and time, then by all means give this one a go!

Live the game to death but won't launch anymore. I click on the program it pops up on the dock for my mac for a second then disappears and nothing loads.

The crusader series this and the 2nd one are far better than the 1st and 3rd set in England. It adds the challenge of desert landscape and there's a diverse political landscape. Fight against rival Crusaders and the Saracens lead by Saladin! The desert landscape itself adds challenge and the campaign tells a beautiful retelling of one of the greatest conflicts in history. I always say history is better than fiction. Strong Hold Crusader makes that a fact. As one who lived a past life as a knight Hospitlar in Antioch during the 12th and 13th century I attest to the beauty of this game!

This game would be a bargain at twice the price. Interesting units, varied maps well considered resource management. The main complaint I've had is that this one really sucks down the hours. Definitely a game that I'd recommend to the solid RTS fan.

Real Time Strategy, Real Time Tactics, City Building, and you might learn a bit of medieval history too. "Stronghold: Crusader" will have you conquering the Holy Lands, repeling the infidel, and kicking ass all the while. But mind the economics, because there's more logistics than just clicking on a base and spawning a soldier. Put your peasantry to work, feed them, tax them, and THEN you can send them off to battle your enemies.
