In a modern fantasy world, college dropout Grace is granted the power of a Muse - power she’ll need to find out the truth behind her predecessor’s death before time runs out. You’ll decide who Grace allies with, who she can trust, and who may betray her in this beautifully hand-illustrated roleplaying musical.
Written by David Gaider comes Stray Gods - an urban fantasy tale of finding your place, taking charge of your fate, and discovering answers. Your choices will change the endings, as well as the path you take to get there.
A compelling story of hope, self-discovery, and forging your path.
Adventure, love, and songs await!
Charm, negotiate, or strong-arm your way through their world as Grace, playing through original, fully interactive musical numbers composed by Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory, Tripod (musicians Scott Edgar, Steven Gates, and Simon Hall) and Eurovision Australia’s own Montaigne (Jess Cerro). Fully orchestrated and performed by an all-star cast, you’ll feel as though you’re right there on the stage. With thousands of potential variations based on your choices, you’ll craft the soundtrack to your own one of a kind musical experience.
Choice and consequence built from the DNA of RPGs - no two playthroughs are the same.
Delve into a hidden world of mythic Greek gods and monsters as you get to know a cast of hilarious, enigmatic, and compelling characters. Forget what you know about these mythological beings - in Stray Gods you’ll forge friendships and find foes with many familiar names, but not so familiar stories. Play as star and stagehand as you determine the story you want to tell through conversation and song.
Find friendship, love, or yourself.
Build friendships with mortals and Gods alike. Stoke the fires of romance if you so choose - explore, pursue, and confess your love with four potential paramours. Decide who you want to be through every choice. David Gaider’s storytelling and characters come to life with performances by an all-star cast, with the likes of Laura Bailey, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and more cast members across video games, television, and Broadway.
A musical for video game lovers, and a video game for musical lovers.
With all the comedy and tragedy of your favorite stage shows, Stray Gods is a tongue-in-cheek and heartfelt reconception of Greek mythology combining what we love about contemporary musical theater with video games where character and story take center stage. Collaborating with some of the best in music, broadway, television, and games - Stray Gods is a debut not to be missed.

Won't lie, that first warning message broke any hopes I had for this game, because it is certainly not something you expect when first starting a game. BUT TRUST ME when I tell you to just put that warning at the back of your mind before judging the content of the game, while you play the game for the first hour, this game proves it is not just a bunch of politically inspired ideas, but its own thing, no politics! The characters are charming, funny and deep, the voice acting is amazeballs and the music, whilst not all of them bangers, is pretty cool, especially because your able to choose which direction each song goes! Some may not like the slideshow-like gameplay, but I found myself simply not noticing it anymore after a while, by memory it almost feels like I was watching a show, and not just a bunch of pictures with words
This is a fun game, and if you like watching movies, or musicals in general, I would highly recommend this game
I just wanted something to pass my time, nothing to pretentious and I picked this game at random.
Wow, the lucky gods smiled to me - the game has a great story and memorable characters! Not the kind of game that I would pick to play, but I'm enjoying it more than I ever enjoyed a game for a couple years now, solid play and a nice narrative.
So far, I'm really enjoying the interesting mechanic of implementing story choices into musical type songs. The character art is especially pretty and the voices, characters and songs are nice too. I love the inclusion of different body-types as well. The only thing I didn't like so much was that during dialog and outside of songs, there seems to be a lot of unintentional silence. It feels like that silence should be filled with either bg music and sound effects. Otherwise, I'm really enjoying the game so far!
The story is compelling. It's paced pretty perfectly, maybe could have been slightly longer. I will say the weak point is the songs, which for the most part are just ok, with the lyrics useally being the weak point. The music is good but the lyrics are often quite lame. Also a lot of the 'role playing' in the songs feels like blind guesswork, and with no easy way to reload, this can be frustrating. I imagine the game would be greatly improved if the song roleplaying was more heavily gamified, like if you had to match lyrics that rhymed well, which would be satisfying and would let you actually know what you are going to say. Still worth it to experince the cool story and decent songs.
