great first step into T-B Strategy
great TBS, been playing it for some 18 years now, occasionally. sometimes when I get a new idea of a strategy, I play SC for a week or so to test it really well xd high score I've got is 429 as Axis on max difficulty. by now there's quite a few more modern games, like Civilization 5 or Hearts of Iron IV, but this is a memorable one and a great first step into turn-based strategy.

An affordable classic in wargaming
This game absolutely stands the test of time. For an accessible strategic level war game it is a delight. A wide range of configurable difficulty and scenario rules means you can easily dial things to your liking. There's depth without unecessary complexity, and I find the visuals to be oddly satisfying.

Strategic Command, In the Beginning...
This is the game that started it all, the entire SC franchise. I remember playing this avidly at the beginning of the 21st century, and the "wow" factor that I experienced. It was an excellent encouragement to move from board war-gaming to digital. I just bought this one again, which completes my collection of the entire franchise! Highly recommend this early version to any war-gamer, newbie or grognard!

My first.
This was my first computer strategy game. Way back then I had a 386 and then a 486 that wouldn't play the game. I actually brought my computer in to a professional to make sure I could play this game. I loved it, no mess, no dice, no table space. Now of course there is a better version of this game, called Hearts of Iron. I do recommend this game however for its simplicity compared to others. If you are new to world conquest type games this would be a great introduction game.

It's Alright
Like the simple, 2D style of the game, however, combat system is very strange, 4 battleships cannot defeat single plane, enemy units behind my lines can reinforce but my units behind enemy lines cannot, my tank takes massive damage from enemy tank, but for some reason their corps is strong enough to hold against a tank? As said, very strange and I feel is biased against axis, but still fun.
