Stranglehold

It plays like Max Payne if it was directed by Michael Bay during his good years. Over the top, filled to the brim with cliche action move tropes, and I'm loving it. So if you are a fan on bullet time and cheesy one liners I would say this game is far worth the time and price.

Game is fun and plays well. Do not play on hard if you value your sanity. Easy is definitely the way this game was meant to be played.

It's starts simple but refreshing. Baddies can be hit in various places. You can see beautiful animations using "zoom ability" (zoom in in slow motion). You hit neck - enemy grab neck. You hit... down part - enemy grab it too. Silly, but entertaining. Environment is destructible. You can make something fall on enemies. You have little collectables (that gives you some small gameplay bonuses afair). Not hard but not brainedead easy. And you have various locations to see. Great, that's only part of game. Except locations, game gets mostly worse. You have so many enemies that you cannot see destructibles. For example in last level I killed all enemies to see destructibles (that could kill enemies). Bosses are just horrible bullet sponges. You land perfect headshot? It takes tiny bit of health, even on causual level (I bet on higher level it takes more). Most bosses I kill using "built in" cheat - unlimited amo and immortality. No skill or whatever "factor". Last boss even won't take damage for some time in my gamplay (I don't know why). Later in game there are so many enemies that it becomes boring. When you go to next place you can get locked to get previous collectibles. For example in one of last levels I fell and got checkpoint. Exploration is not existent in last level(s). Ok, I finished the game let me explore... nope, it just ends here. In general it's pretty nice short game. If it were longer I wouldn't bother completing it. If it's on discount it may worth it.

Honestly if i could give this game 11/10 I would.
