A Type Of Horror We Lack Now A Days

Just a disclaimer, I've been playing this for many hours straight and it's now almost 5 am, I couldn't put it down. So this review might be a little clumsy and full of errors. I loved it, sooo much. It's been forever since I've played a horror game that immersed me in such a fantastic and unique way. I really REALLY want these developers to continue making games. The writing was phenominal, interesting, always somethi ng cool happening or something new to discover. The voice acting was great, the graphics looked smooth and real! I can't get over what a unique experience this game was. Don't look up anything unless you're truly stuck, because it's so much better to find out everything as you play. You will not regret getting this game if you're a true horror game fan. The text based stuff was super fun too, I always loved that niche genre. The game has a lot more too it too! It was so great. I really want these guys to make another game..

Great game with 1980's feeling!

When I started playing this game, I was not sure what I was going into. I had tried out the demo which was just the first chapter, the text adventure. I didn't know if the whole game would be like this or not. The game mechanics are quite simple in this game, it focus on you typing on your keyboard or you pressing on different buttons in your environment. It's quite linear and everything you need to know will be told to you one way or another. Now when it comes to the story. I won't spoil too much. In the beginning it feels like the episodes are not related to eachother, it's just random events happening at random places. However, that's completly wrong and everything will eventually be shown in the last chapter. I recommend this game to anyone who wants to enjoy a short, a bit scary and very mindtwisting game.

Great game... but hates Intel HD

Ok, so the game "starts" as a pure text adventure. But it evolves into something more. It really is difficult to talk about it without spoiling the story (which is great). This games is like a simplify text adventure of yore, with nice graphics and aesthetics that scream "Stranger Things". The music is great, the sound design is GLORIOUS... However, do not be fool by the minimum requirements and the fact it is a "mostly" text adventure: you better have a big baddy graphic card because this game is not that light. In fact, with Intel HD Graphics 4000, a Core i5 and 4gb of RAM I couldn't play the game above 14fps. I had to lower the resolution to 640x480 and lowest details to get around 22... But then everything is blurred (specially text, in a text adventure) and super tiny. In spite of the unity engine doing crappy things to my laptop, the game has great atmosphere, is addicting, and the story really gets you and immerses you in that world. If you have a powerful computer and want to put something more than the latest shooter benchmar... game, then buy this game.

Spectacular, but find a walkthrough

This is smart, creepy fun. Multiple episodes with an interwoven narrative work well together, and the cheery theme song sets you up for each episode. If you're nostalgic for when computer keyboards clicked and TVs were a great^H^H^H^H^H^H way to display a screen of text, this will resonate with you even more. For the most part, the gameplay is engrossing and the puzzles make sense. This game blends warm nostalgia and horror - that is QUITE an accomplishment. Unfortunately, in a few spots, the puzzles are completely opaque. There are subtitles, except when you need to enter numbers that only have audio cues. Or - in one case - the command you have to type comes from incidental text on a previous screen. Since walkthroughs are readily available, I'm not taking off any stars. While the adult side of me appreciated the scares and story, I also feel like I just revisited my childhood. Absolutely worth the money.

Great game, until I ran into a bug

The idea behind the game is great and I liked it right from the start. It´s the right game for you if you like games where you can (and have to) try things out and learn. The game tells you what to do, but not exactly how to do it. Since each episode consists of only one or two screens, there aren't that many possibilities so I didn't find the first two episodes too difficult, but then in the third there seems to be a bug. The instructions are rather clear in this one so there is not much room for a misunderstanding. I've tried several times, triple-checking everything until I came to the conclusion it must be a bug. Since you can't start the 4th episode until you have finished the 3rd, only half of the game can be played at this time. I hope there will be a fix because I'd like to see the rest of this unusual game.
