Hum... Mixed bag.

This is an adventure/point-and-click game. Graphics are decent. Music’s fine. The story’s the real draw. No bugs, no crashes. Overall? Entertaining, but also kind of irritating. The story’s actually solid—dark, layered, worth following. But the puzzles? Range from dull to full-on moon logic. Just when you're getting into the plot, boom: here comes a riddle that makes zero sense. You'll probably have to pause the game and dig up a solution online. And yes, pixel-hunting is alive and well. The highlights: story, voice acting, and atmosphere. It’s a classic adult game with all the flavor of a grim thriller. If that’s your thing, you’ll probably enjoy it. But if you hate obscure puzzles and rely on walkthroughs, expect some pain. So yeah—mixed bag, but worth it if you come in with the right mindset.

Solid point & click

Super solid point & click that despite being very linear, hits a good balance between too streamlined and too confusing/nonsensical and it overall improves everything compared to its prequel post mortem. There are hard puzzles, but everything is doable and more importantly, don't use nonsensical logic. Plus while not as memorable as something like TLJ, the voice acting, art direction and story are all great. I hated the ending though.

I felt like a kid in the 2000's

The aesthetics of the game really got me. I was immersed, especially during the Prague missions (The czech architecture, the eerie streets... Loved it!). Didn't like the plot very much, though. It really took me back to when i used to buy games in big boxes and play them in my dad's old desktop. Give it a try for the nostalgia.

Points for trying

OK I just finished still life, and there are good and bad. The good part is the ambiance and various esthetics, like Prague and the paintings. The idea of two similar investigations in two time periods is very cool. The bad, well first of all there will be pixel hunting, and a lot of Guide Dang It. This is a walkthrough : http://www.gameboomers.com/wtcheats/pcSs/stilllife.htm, you WILL need it. Some voice acting is terrible (that cop, and Mia, damn :( ) and some story points are rather cliché.

Difficult to review

Very good puzzles! Writing can be a little cheesy, but the gameplay is great.
