Avoid. Crashes constantly!
The windows version of this game constantly crashes between 20 and 30 min. of play, in Offline / Single Player mode. The -built in to the game web browser- is constantly trying to phone home. No phone home allowed ... the game crashes. To get this game to run .... you need to be Online and logged into your Paradox Account.

It's crap
There are a lot of good ideas in this game, but the execution is terrible. The installer is buggy, expect some trouble getting it running. The interface is cluttered but still manages to avoid showing the information I want. The visuals are weak. I spent most of the game staring at the galaxy view which is not pretty. There is little explanation of what the various features do in-game, and the wikis are all outdated making it impossible to tell what some things are even supposed to do. The AI is practically non-existent; both for enemy empires and your own governors. I really wanted to like this, but it's crap.

Worst Business management staff ever
The business management of Paradox Interactive is a real tragedy. It's the worst kind of greedy incompetent spineless destroyers with zero respect for art that make such horrendous moneymilking decisions without bating an eye. Like now trying to sell a game with 75% discount thinking no one will notice they have to pay dozens times more for dozens of DLCs. I feel sorry for any developer that ended up working there. Run before your artistic soul burns out completely! I just can't understand how desperate someone could be to work for a company that sacks a main game designer and a father of Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines long before the sequel is finished. People being ignorant about supporting such business models and practices by buying their products is another tragedy.
