Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
If you like strategic, complex games in WW2 with tons of historically accurat units, this is your paradise!
If you like Company of Heroes, maybe this isnt your game. If you like Graviteam Tactics or the other Eugen games this is your game!
You have different parts in Steel Divison 2.
First of all, you can play realtime battles. Single- and multiplayer with up to 10vs10 player.
Second part is the possibility to build your own divison! If you have a faible for WW2 technic and vehicles, this is real warporn. Hundreds of units with individual statistics, visuals etc.
Third part are campaigns on strategic maps, where you field your army on historically missions.
Its not a perfect game at the moment, but Eugen Systems is trying to fix bugs and expands the games with both free and payed DLC´s.
I like this game so much, I own Steel Division 2 on steam and decided to buy it again on GOG with the history pass to support Eugen and CD Project, too.
it's not classic RTS but if You're open to something new - this is a great opportunity - maasive scale battles, real maps and divisions. many game types for Single and Multi.
This is by far the best war game I have ever seen. It is challenging getting started but once to get the hang of it it is so rewarding. The game is also very deep when it comes to pick your income style and how it impacts your planning. The multi player game is awesome.
Game itself is fun, but there is few irritating things like achivements sometimes don't work and replays on historical battles are "invalid" so you cant watch it. I don't know if this problems are only on GOG.
This game could be a great one but there are quite a few things that hold it back. From the little I played, the AI seemed OK, but not the unit AI. And here I am not adding things like - the arty can auto-shoot units that were never spotted when set to “fire at will”. The strategic layer is extremely simple, fortunately the tactical side is well rounded. Somehow it did not keep me playing, maybe because it feels a bit shallow even through its apparent complexity.
