You can only Save when you rest...
Personally I find limiting when and where you can save a bad practice and shows that the developer does not respect the users time. This game is a good example of that. I would like to have a more positive impression of the game but it will not let me play long enough to get one. lol. The tutorial; killed me the first time. I think one would be best served by just doing what you feel is the common sense thing to survive. You'll make a knife and what you need as part of the process. Check what you can make and use that as your guide. The tutorial rat holes you into a sequence that might not be the most pragmatic use of your most limited resource: time. I am three hours into play and have only played the first thirty mins a couple times, and a glorious hour and half session where I was making a base camp. I Just lost the third and most successful run to a bug. Hence the review. Time is not only your most precious resource in the game but out here in real life too. You cannot get back wasted time like you can with money or anything else on this rock. So it really aggravates me when I loose an hour and a half of gameplay because I did not feel like my character should nap. I kind of think it is stupid to wander around in the desert in the hot day time and I believe the resting mechanic will advance the time till morning. Not that I have got to confirm that. I did not feel like finding out till I got some resources gathered. Was it my fault I died both play throughs? Absolutely. Would I have made progress and still want to play the game and not feel disgruntled if I could tap a button and have a save to fall back on. Absolutely.
