STAR WARS™: X-Wing Special Edition

You must get this. Not only does it allow you to purposely simulate what it's like to fly an X-Wing, the story is fantastic. The missions are challenging. Even the TRAINING is challenging but a pleasurable experience. You have to fly through a bunch of rings and it's made abundantly clear, this game is meant for those who enjoy these space sim games to the highest magnitude. This does not, however, discourage newcomers from enjoying the game. In fact, it will give you a deeper appreciation for LucasArts and their game design team. Cheers and may The Force be with you.

When GoG announced new pubisher, I hoped it will be Lucasarts, well, wish-ef'n-granted! As for the X-Wing game, it is great and a must have. Only thing better is Tie Fighter, also on GoG now, it's like it's Christmas in advance :)

Now can we please get X-Wing Alliance... it was a late comer but one of the best in my opinion. I want to fly the Falcon again.

I thought, what the heck, I'll peruse GOG as I'm logging off from work and I see Lucas games. Thank you GOG. I loved X-Wing and Tie Fighter way too much back in the day. Sure the graphics are very antiquated in these games, so what. As far as a space simulator goes, these games are stellar, all puns intended. I hope you get the add ons as well. Keep adding those games guys.

This is a must-have for any Star Wars or space sim fan. This is pretty much one of the best space simulators of it's time. The technical depth is massive in both this and it's Tie Fighter sequel. As soon as I heard this would be available, I sat and waited breathlessly. The originals are difficult to get going correctly on a Win7 machine, so this is an awesome job they've done. I've already played through the first 6 missions this morning! Even though it's visuals are dated, the control scheme is so massively entertaining that you will forget it as soon as you get wrapped up in it. Once you're in, you simply will want to play mission after mission. Managing your energy and shield distribution is the key to success...and the wonderful amount of control options really brings the Star Wars world to life once you add in the fantastic setting and models. Well beyond it's time, this is a classic. Get both this and the arguably much better Tie Fighter and you will be one happy camper! Great job, GOG! Thank you!
