Waiting For Download

I got this Game and KotOR 2 on Steam when I thought they would never come to GOG. Frankly it was a mistake the Game is absolutely awful on Steam, Almost Totally unplayable on my PC and many others with no support from Steam. Many manage to get it running due to other users help. I even got it going but not for long. So seeing it and I expect/hope KotOR 2 to appear soon, knowing GOG have got it ready for Windows 7, buying it was a dead cert> I'm not a Star Wars fan at all and that is not a selling point to me at all. The opposite is the case, I get it in spite of the Star Wars theme, due to the reputation it has as a Great Old Game, one I want to Mod as well. Also easier to do without Steams rubbish. I expect a better experience with GOG, it at least can't be worse than Steam, GOG will refund my money if I can't play, Steam doesn't and now my download is done, time to install

Overrated as hell

This is possibly one of the most overrated games of all time. the story is so poor and cheesy it makes me sick, I feel like it was written for 3 year olds, I can't think of a single likable character in the entire game, the villian (if you can call him that) is so generic and poorly written you would think he's from a marvel movie. He even does the fucking cartoon villian laugh. If you want a real Star Wars RPG play KOTOR II it is better in every way possible.

What Hanz3R says

As in many well-funded games, there is plenty of political left messaging aka brainwashing going on. And have no doubt, overall across the board, there absolutely IS an agenda going on, even in gaming and especially ones funded by anything other than privately backed developers. I look forward to all the no votes and thank you in advance. Congratulations, you have successfully fallen to the manipulation.

Mediocre but reeks of bad messaging

The thing that really drags this game down the most is the politics. I quite often see people claim that Bioware wasn’t always woke and used to make God-tier games like this one. Well after playing through the older games I found that it's not that Bioware wasn’t woke it’s just that the politics went over the heads of many young gamers. One of the first instances of cringey leftwing politics is on the first planet Taris. You run into a protester who doesn’t want alien refugees in the city. When you talk to him you can say “You’re ignorant”, “Get out of here before I kill you”, or “I agree let’s kill all the aliens right now!” I don’t think I really need to tell you how this is underhanded leftwing propaganda. Unfortunately, KOTOR is riddled with instances like this. Another example is Bastila who is essentially a mouthpiece for feminist ideas. A character who despite supposedly being a jedi (a force of good) comments that you should kill a husband because he wronged his wife in some way. The slight that the husband theatrically did is never explained so we’re supposed to just believe the wife at face value because #believeallwomen. You ever get tired of the constant misandry in the gaming industry? I know I do. It should also be mentioned that every female character that is morally grey or a sith is treated sympathetically while their male counterparts are outright evil with no depth. As you've probably guessed by now the overwhelming number of evil characters in the game are white men. Shocking I know. Because of the blatant agenda pushing of the devs the karma system in the game is basically pointless. All the “good” actions are actions that the writers believe are morally superior and ideologically agree with. All of the “evil” ones are actions that they feel their political enemies believe in. All in all it's quite hard to recommend this game unless you want to analyze the subversive politics it contains. Barring that it really isn't worth your time.
