STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic

Lets start with the positives the game has a pretty engaging story it keeps you hooked for the journey as well as some choices to affect the outcome each member of your party has a fleshed out backstory that you can learn about if you so choose over the course of the game with their own motivations and overall morality and personality all of them in my opinion are quite likeable which is even further boosted by the voice acting Now onto the bad this game is a shining example of what RPGs should strive to be but the combat is absolutely horrible this isn't even one of those git gud scenarios everything in combat is random chance based 80% of all the battles I've fought throughout the game that I lost was because I got unlucky with my attacks the enemy would block/dodge 8 of my attacks in a row and hit all 8 of his the force abilities are pointless since you don't have any gurantee they will work you have to take a risk does the enemy have to high of resistance to be affected than proceed and lose all your force bar making you unable ot use any other ability and there's a possibility the ability did nothing I personally just saved the force bar for the healing ability I'd recommend playing this game on Easy that way if the game decides to fuck you, you at least have chance to survive it also while the companions have compelling stories you'll most likely not be able to take the ones you want into combat since most of them have ranged specialization and ranged attacks miss 90% of the time I've had scenarios where my character which is built as a frontline to take all the aggro for the most part would die and even if the enemy was close to dead the battle would be over because my companions couldn't hit any of their shots and your forced into combat so often that stealth isn't an option TLDR Great RPG great story and characters. Absolutely horrible combat this game would be a 5/5 for me if the combat was less frequent and had more focus on the story

This is a real tragedy. You get to play as a handicapped who can't look up or down and struggles to keep up with side characters. It's really disappointing how it ruins the squad shooter/slasher with an attempt at turn-based dice combat. Parts of it are fun, there's plenty to explore, but this can only be recommended for the hardest of Star Wars fans who like excessively niche games. You need to read some min/max guides and the cheat guides before starting the game.

omg can you guys get this on Mac? I would love to play this game again since its my favorite Star Wars game of all time.

Absolute must for any RPG fans.

Black screens and glitchs. Get the steam version instead.
