It took me a good few hours to start liking this game. Maybe because I'm more of a FPS kinda guy and this was my 1st RPG, I hated it at first, I couldn't get to grip with the mechanics and the slow pace of having to chat with everyone. then somehow after a while, I got myself involved in the story and ended up spending 80 hours playing it until I finished the game.
Can't recommend this one it crashes so often that it's almost unplayable. And the minigames are horrible - on a modern PC I can't get past them even on easy. Probably would have been fun when it came out, but too late now.
Kotor 1 and Kotor 2 have their problems but if you're a fan of starwars (not the new movies) K1 and K2 are very good experiences and definitely worth grabbing (when they go on sale so their flaws don't feel as painful). In terms of the story, I have to say that the story of Kotor 1 kind of sort of feels better than the story from kotor 2. I'm a bit conflicted on that to be honest. I almost can't make up my mind, but I hope that what I have said here is good enough. K1 and K2 are worth playing at least once each.
I'm into DnD CRPGs and this at the beginning felt like lazy work. As the game progresses it gains complexity, some characters are put together really well. I lke to explore the environment, there's apsolutely nothing of it. Every footlocker is obvious to loot, there are like 5 items in a room altogether. But later I felt the game's pace was supposed to be faster, so I went along.
The beginning of the game feels extremely slow if you happen to go more than several backs and forths (don't worry about medpacks that much, just stock up as soon as you find a vendor, don't plan on getting back).
And I wasted so much time on Pazak just to figure out that all my wins didn't bring me anything to actually finish the game.
In any case, I apreciate some interesting insights about politics from a couple of dialogues, I actually learned something from the game. I finished it so I can start playing the second part though, and I am just about to start it.
