STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic

I played this when it released back in ages past and loved it. A lot. Playing it now, however, does feel a bit clunky and it really starts to show its age. Not talking about graphics (the game is over two decades old by now!), but the awkward controls, poor companion AI and the general combat heavy design. If you don' t let those bother you, this still is a blast to play and a complete joy for an old Star Wars fan to experience. An elegant game for a more civilized age...

This game is one of my most favorite games ever! Partially because of nostalgia and partially because it is a great RPG with an interesting story and memorizable characters. I only give it 4 stars because it has aged in many ways, resolution is...a funny idea for this game unless you want to play in atiny window or use third party software (which in my expirience decrease the stabilty) you will play 800x600 which is okay but not optimal. The game also has the problem of not accepting your keyboard input at random or when you "alt + tab" but that can be fixed by saving and loading (turn on VSYNC it will decrease that happening by alot). And now the last problem...sometimes it crashes you should save every now and then and dont rely on the auto save. But if you can life with those problems it is still a great game!

But I'm struggling with technical issues on modern OS.

This RPG has withstood the test of time, it's still fun to play even today. Way back when, when Bioware made some excellent games it's a shame the game never had a sequel or a remake it is easily one of the best Star Wars games, and certainly a brilliant RPG that set the tone for many later pretenders and in my opinion was a precursor the the Great Mass Effect. There are damn few games that can top this. It's an action style RPG but it never feels like that because of the clever control system, the lightsaber duels still look flashy even if they are decades old. I doubt anyone out there has never played this game, but if there is and you quite like sci fi and RPGs, I urge you to get it for your collection.

I love KOTR as a game so much. However, I am simply unable to play. Please fix this issue.
