Star Wars™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II includes Star Wars™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II and Star Wars™ Jedi Knight - Mysteries of the Sith.
Whatever path Kyle Katarn chooses will change the face of the galaxy forever.
Star Wars™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II continues the story of Kyle Katarn, a young mercenary that successfully infiltrated the Empire, as he embarks on a quest to discover his past and learn the ways of the Jedi. In order to protect the galaxy Katarn must confront his father's murderers, led by the Dark Jedi Jerec, and stop them from obtaining the mysterious powers of a "Valley of the Jedi", a focal point for Jedi power and a Jedi burial ground. As Katarn embarks on his journey to defeat the Dark Jedi he must also shape his destiny, by choosing to follow either the light side, or the dark side.
Mysteries of the Sith
Kyle Katarn's adventures continue five years after the events in Dark Forces II. Invading Imperial forces advance upon a quiet Rebel outpost, interrupting Kyle's trianing of a brave new Jedi, Mara Jade. First introduced in Timothy Zahn's award-winning Star Wars™ novel, Heir to the Empire, Mara Jade combines her experiences as a smuggler and Emperor's Hand with her apprenticeship as a Jedi Knight. Mara's training will continue in the field as she makes use of four new weapons and five new Force™ powers to secure supplies for the New Republic. Meanwhile, Kyle pursues what he believes to be his destiny as he searches for secret treasures in an ancient Sith temple. Will you uncover the Mysteries of the Sith?
i love kyle katarn as a character but i cant play any of these games on modern pc windows 10 ive tryed every mod and thing i can find i own every digital version and still black screen, i have the worst luck
More to the point, mouse dead zones are massive! There are some solutions, but none of them fix the problem 100%. Be warned that this mouse problem breaks all the fun. And I'm surprised that no one (as far as I've seen) has reported this, hehe, could it be that nostalgia is so much that it blinded these people?! Well, another minor error is in the FOV which cuts the weapon model by more than half, there are also some solutions online but they are all related to modifying the ".exe", and you know, changing this in the GOG version may break other compatibility related things. Anyway, the game is good, and if had a mouse with the sensitivity working properly, the fun would certainly be guaranteed. I haven't tested the expansion, but keep in mind that it may suffer from the same issues.
So, there is the Crosshair.... there is the HUD... and then there is a black screen. Doesnt matter what graphic setting i tried. so it is unplayable for me.....
I went into the game wanting to like it, I really did. And while the gunplay is what I'm familiar with(If you played Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, you'll understand), and was very enjoyable... and the level design isn't half the bullshit Jedi Outcast's is. The force powers are mostly very underwhelming on the Light Side.
But the worst part is the bosses. Immune to everything except the lightsaber and the lightsaber just... sucks. It's the worst weapon in the game and you get mines that are primed to go off immediately because they're proximity charges without a delay. You can blow that Boss to hell with Rail Charges, Thermal Detonators, Mines, and the Concussion rifle all day long. But until you whip out that Lightsaber, you do zero damage. And that's not the worst part. If the game decides they block you, you do zero damage.
So when does the game decide the boss isn't blocking? They're in an attack animation or some other animation that doesn't have their saber in front of them. Which leads to this dance where you have to move back and forth in and out of attack range with frame perfect timing just to get hit and survive. And for those who want to say Force Protection, ever use it? Because that don't do shit in boss fights.
If you want to go for it, go for it, but just keep in mind it's... disappointing.
