Description
Star Wars™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II includes Star Wars™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II and Star Wars™ Jedi Knight - Mysteries of the Sith.

Whatever path Kyle Katarn chooses will change the face of the galaxy forever.

Star Wars™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II continues the story of Kyle Katarn, a young mercenary that successfully infiltrated the Empire, as he embarks on a quest to discover his past and learn the ways of the Jedi. In order to protect the galaxy Katarn must confront his father's murderers, led by the Dark Jedi Jerec, and stop them from obtaining the mysterious powers of a "Valley of the Jedi", a focal point for Jedi power and a Jedi burial ground. As Katarn embarks on his journey to defeat the Dark Jedi he must also shape his destiny, by choosing to follow either the light side, or the dark side.

Mysteries of the Sith

Kyle Katarn's adventures continue five years after the events in Dark Forces II. Invading Imperial forces advance upon a quiet Rebel outpost, interrupting Kyle's trianing of a brave new Jedi, Mara Jade. First introduced in Timothy Zahn's award-winning Star Wars™ novel, Heir to the Empire, Mara Jade combines her experiences as a smuggler and Emperor's Hand with her apprenticeship as a Jedi Knight. Mara's training will continue in the field as she makes use of four new weapons and five new Force™ powers to secure supplies for the New Republic. Meanwhile, Kyle pursues what he believes to be his destiny as he searches for secret treasures in an ancient Sith temple. Will you uncover the Mysteries of the Sith?

This game was my childhood

I can't even begin to say how many months of my childhood i withered away playing this game and some mod of it. Back when I still had a functioning set of discs for it (that I may still have somewhere) I also had dozens, if not more, mods for it that I would swap out and play it again with. The only thing I would have ever changed about the base game was the light saber choices were quite bland. But that is where some of the best modders came in and made it so you could dual wield or use a staff. Some even made dual phase mods where you could have a standard length saber or a double length. Basically I changed up my experience with this game almost every time I played it. I love it, I still love it. I know anyone that gives it an HONEST try will probably love it also. The base mechanics are smooth, the force is a little rough but I gotta say they did well with it all things considered. Deffinetly worth the money.. I wish I had the money. I can just see me slaughtering my son in the multiplayer like I used to do to my brother.

Classic Dark Forces

While it's not the pretty game in the stable, the puzzle design still holds up strong, even to this day. I remember sneaking into the computer room, with a bunch of my friends, at lunch time of course! We would install the game, renamed the file as something else, so it wouldn't be deleted! It was so much fun! The single player game was also a lot of fun as well, with a really good storyline, memorable characters, and the first game that brought the lightsaber into the first person perspective. I would give it a 9.5/10 score, only because of the graphics, and some minor glitches, otherwise it is perfect!

Nostalgia at it's finest!

This was the first game I ever played with online multiplayer capabilities. Sabers only!!! Man... Reminds me of staying up well past a reasonable hour, whispering curses at players with hacks and mods that basically gave them god mode while trying not to get caught by my parents... The good ol' days!

Best Star Wars FPS Game ever

Oh the Memories, even after 18 Years i almost knew the exakt placements of the Enemys. This was my first Star Wars Game (aktually Rebel Assault came first but i only played a few minutes) it captures perfectly what makes the Star Wars Universe great.

Horribly optimized for Windows 8

The original Dark Forces was a decent, fun game, but this one is a tragic step backward. I really wanted to like this game, but two things just make it a chore to play. First are the controls, which just feel wonky compared to Dark Forces; aiming is way less accurate and the auto-aim feature barely helps. Controls, though, those can be gotten used to. No, the real problem is this game is just not well optimized for Windows 8. It looks like shit on even high resolutions, and even blacks out the pause screen if it is set too high. Even worse, it crashes frequently (sometimes after a mere half-hour of gameplay or less) and the timing seems completely arbitrary. Sometimes it will run fine for an entire level, but then crash the moment you try to bring the pause screen up or even right after cutscenes. As the gameplay and level design, aside from the control issues, are for the most part good (it also finally has the ability to manually save during levels, the lack of which was a huge problem with the original Dark Forces) it's a decent game WHEN it works, so let the buyer beware.
