STAR WARS™ Galactic Battlegrounds Saga

This is Age of Empires 2 but with Star Wars theme. Amazing RTS for any Star Wars fan. Good campaigns.

Back in the day I loved this game and I was so happy when I found out i can buy it GoG. Bought it, played it a bit and I really enjoyed it, but to be honest I got some issues with this version. 1. Resolution The max resolution is 1280*1024 which is quite nice for older PCs, but not nowadays. Sometimes the game can get really ugly, and your field of view is very limited. 2. Sound options You can't really adjust the sounds (both effects and music), because it's either full on "blast your ears off" orchestra or nothing (The sound effects and musics in the game are really great and nostalgic). You can adjust it in the OS sound settings, but that's not really practical. 3. Random crashes Not going to lie, I've played the game for 2 hours, finished the tutorial campaign, then started the first real campaign and i wanted to continue, but during this 2 hours the game crashed 3 times. I've tested this at multiple (exactly 3) different computers, with different OS and hardware, but there was always a crash. Anyway, the game is great, but the issues kinda make me not to play with it. I would really happy if the Team could fix these, but until it's not fixed I won't really play.

Age of Empires II is awesome. Star Wars is awesome. Put the two together and you have something truly remarkable. If you like AoE II or Star Wars I highly recommend getting this on sale. For a couple bucks you have tens of hours of enjoyment. For modern operating systems, here is what I recommend: 1. Install the Expanding Forces Mod 2. Install the All In One Patch 3. Play the game using Expanding Forces Launcher This should give you working looped music and custom resolution support.

I bought this game without knowing the most important thing about it: It's just a straight copy of Age of Empires 2 with a Star Wars skin. Sorry, did I say JUST a copy of AOE2? JUST the single best RTS game ever made? But with wookies and Jedi? Shut up and take my money!

If you want a resolution patch, color fix, and to play multiplayer, you can do so on voobly. Go to http://www.voobly.com/ download the client, create an account, log in, open the game browser, double click on the Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Clone Campaign lobby. It'll scan for the game and update it automatically. If you have installed the game somewhere weird, you may have to point it to wherever you installed it.
