STAR WARS™ Dark Forces (Classic, 1995)

It was outdated even then (as it is 24 years old or so) but still I did love it back then. I am prety sure I remember most of the story I played through and I remember perfectly mission I stuck on (stealth one with releasing a prisoner). To me this game not Doom is symbol of mid 90s FPPS. With all that said, I dont think I could play it today and have same fun. I dont really care about graphics I play to this day in plenty of classical games (some of them from GOG:P) but as much as I love and respect Dark Forces.... it may just be a litle too retro even for me...

Played it many years ago. Fun getting the chance to play it again.

Glorious nostalgia, but hasn't aged well on it's own. If only the DarkXL project would update.

If you like DOOM and you like Star Wars, you'll like this game. I still haven't beaten it, but it's fun to break out and play sometimes. It is built on the DOOM engine, which some people love and others hate, but at least you know exactly the sorts of graphics and maps you will get.

No, I can't pretend it has aged all that gracefully, and the lives system (instead of in-level saves) may not be for everyone. That said, blasting Imperials is still a hoot. Star Wars fans may love their light sabers (maybe a little too much so), but for me running and gunning in this and Jedi Outcast is some of the most fun I've had in this gaming franchise. :)
