It really is CLASSIC.
This game rules. I was able to cross-play with my friend who is on the Steam version and I'm on the GOG. Pro tip: disable the Discord overlay and it will go well with you. Thought it's a little buggy at times the fun factor is still very much alive here and I was happy to see others are still playing. May the force be with you!

great game, still holds up
only shows its age a little bit since it is very obvious that the enemy bots will snap their attention at you the second you show your face. Still extremly fun anyhow. Hope we get a modern take of galactic conquest some point in the future as it really elevates this game
