You should definitely check out this classic Star Trek game. It's a great FPS made on the Quake 3 engine.

after completing the intro on the borg ship i directly end up in a holding cell. it is not possible to get any farther.

Rough-Edged Trek Classic
I've been playing this game since I was a boy. Yeah, it's a Quake re-skin, but so was Dark Forces. Where it lacks modern polish it makes up for in fun Trek action. They even pepper in a little sci-fi tropes. Feels like a long-form episode of Voyager that you get to play.
