Description
Star Trek™: Judgment Rites includes the Star Trek™: Judgment Rites Collector's Edition CD-ROM.

Captain's log, stardate 6238.4. There is no doubt that you're being watched. By whom and by what type of life form is not determined. Even Spock has not been able to accurately assess this data. The occurrences are just too strange.

Star Trek™: Judgment Rites, a sequel to Star Trek™: 25th Anniversary, brings you back as Captain James T. Kirk along with your entire crew, as the 5 year Mission continues with 8 new, thought-provoking episodes. The tension increases as you beam down to mysterious worlds and encounter strange adversaries in situations that simply defy logic. Is that truly an ancient WWI triplane heading straight for you at Warp 9? How can your sensors suddenly report life forms on a dead planet? You're a long way from Starfleet Command and only you can discover what - or who - is challenging you beyond your wildest nightmares. Or can you?

Best Star Trek Game Ever?

If there's a better Star Trek game out there, I haven't found it. This one takes the great formula of Star Trek 25th Anniversary and improves upon it in nearly every regard. From the adventure segments to the hip combat, everything is much better this time around. Too bad they didn't follow up with any more in the series. Sure, it's dated by modern standards, but if you enjoy pixelated point and click, this is one of the best ever made.

Fun blast to the past

Star Trek: Judgment Rites is a fun dive into 90's gaming and Starfleet nostalgia, bringing all the best (and some of the typical quirks) of classic adventure games. The voice acting is fantastic, with the original Star Trek cast reprising their roles, adding an authentic layer that fans will love. Each mission is uniquely crafted and doesn’t rehash old TV episodes, making it feel fresh even if you know the series inside and out. Of course, it’s got that classic 90’s gameplay—cue the dreaded “find the hidden pixel to progress”—but it’s worth pushing through for the story and some genuinely funny dialogue. The humor largely holds up, too, keeping the tone light in the best way. All in all, an 8/10 that’s well worth revisiting for fans of the original crew.

Go where no one has bravely gone before

Puzzles can be hard, but it brings me back to my childhood where I would sit in front of the television set with a glass of pepsi, and just watch Kirk on television. It will re-capture that love of the franchise you. I played and beat this game like 20 times in my youth, and I still love this game.

A classic with the original Trek voices

These games are firmly in the peak of when quality was the norm. The fact the entire crew is voiced in entirety through the game, inc puzzles and the quips that for eg Spook was infamous for just adds charm. It's as honestly good as the Star Trek series inc references to characters that stared in. They require a bit of logic (pun intended) but you can save anywhere. Bad points for modern gamers is the interface requires right-clicking on Kirk and hovering over eyes, mouth, left and right hands to see, speak to, give and use. There is instances when attacked you need to *quickly* click on kirk to get to inventory and access the phasers (green stun and Red to kill) other than that and having starmap open to get to the correct galaxy coordinates -get it wrong and it's a space battle you must win! My opinion is get the series here on GoG. Pure golden gaming

Good game, but could use more OS Work

Like the 25th Anniversary Star Trek Game, the Linux version did not launch after install (Linux Mint 21.3 (based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS), and Heroic Games Launcher). The Windows Install also suffered a failure with DOSBox, which Windows would also use to run a DOS-based game. However switching WINE version to Proton Experimental in heroic Games Launcher allowed the game to launch through DOSBox, it just takes longer to launch. I would drop it to 3/5 for that, but didn't want to so on a classic. I hope that gets fixed though. One thing that made this sequel to the 25th Anniversary Star Trek Game fun was that the landing party varied between missions so you get to work with more of the original cast on away missions.
