Has anyone had a problem where the entire background on a map is black? no stars, no background nebula's, etc? normal assets such as ships, stations, nebula's, etc are there.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Single-Player and Instant Action works like it does on my original disc, but apparently this (GOG) version does not have functional Multiplayer that is compatible with GameRanger like the original disc version is, I have read this in a forum and tested this by selecting "Internet" when choosing Multiplayer in-game.
I know GOG (more like Activision) will not update or include additional features for this version, but one can dream.
P.S.
I broke my moral rule in not supporting Activision, but since the free versions are not working anymore (interestingly) and I've been wanting to play Armada with my family, mostly my nephew I sadly had to break that rule just to try to play multiplayer. But since finding out that this version is not compatible with GameRanger, I feel like I broke my rule and wasted money for nothing.
Has anyone tried to add the older custom made maps like 8ua5rev1 or Warcircle? I downloaded them from an Armada files site and added them to the bzn folder, but it's only a black screen with fog after launching. I made sure all 3 files were present.
the Game runs quite well on modern systems, but it adds ugly black bars to the sides of the widescreen monitors. future updates should just stretch to fullscreen, no black bars to the sides. its an older game, no ones going to care if its stretched, after all.
otherwise, its a great game for its time, a must play.
