A military expedition to the center of the Zone has mysteriously disappeared. To figure out the reason and status of the personnel, is your task as Major Degtyarev, a Security Service of Ukraine operative in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
UNCHARTED LANDS
The Exclusion Zone around the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant flames with anomalous activity stronger than ever before. Emissions of destructive energy flood it day by day, as its heartlands are finally free to explore for the most experienced and brazen ones. So set your path through swampy Zaton, industrial zones of the "Jupiter" plant, the ghost town of Pripyat, and the top secret catacombs in which no stalker's foot has set since the catastrophe.
NEW THREATS
The Zone becomes even more unpredictable and dangerous, distorting the fabric of reality with its energy. You'll have to seek shelter during abrupt emissions and show great ingenuity in order to deal with the new types of anomalies. Get ready to face Chimera – the most fierce predator of these lands at night and telepathic mutant Burer at the darkest abandoned places.
THE SEQUEL TO THE STORY
The lone stalker lifestyle is neat – but in Call of Pripyat, you've got a special objective. Along the journey, you'll meet plenty of vagabonds and dwellers. Be far-sighted and careful in your decisions: some of them can help in your investigation or shed some light on the mysteries of the Zone.

A grown mans Fallout
Sound: generic sfx, cheesy dialogue and fantastic soundtrack from drones to ambient noises. Graphics: beautiful scenery, medium models. the landscape really stands out sometimes as breathtaking. overall still holds up. Gameplay: well its ups and downs but mainly ups. no handholding and varied enough to keep you gripped. 8/10

Best and worst of the three games
Even if I disliked them I played through the two first games in this series twice because I often find the playthrough better the second time after getting to know the game the first play through. I could not make myself play through this game a second time... The game padding is even worse than in the previous games: You are still sent back and forth to waste your time, but to make matters worse, you now need to find and hire guides to go between different areas, and to make maters EVEN worse, you now have to pay them to go back and forth! On top of that you now all of a sudden are mostly unable to sell weapons you loot. So you have to waste even more time managing your inventory in stead of actually playing the game! The frustrating tendency for the game to more or less randomly kill you with radiation or anomalies are still present in this game. The game padding in form of making you specifically search for artifacts is sadly continued from the second game. The enemies did not seem to respawn beyond boredom in this game in difference to at least "Shadow of Chernobyl", and that is a good thing. Another positive development is that some enemies did not survive emptying a full clip into them as sometimes happened in "Shadow of Chernobyl". I also felt that the game got A LOT better towards the end, but then it ended shortly after, leaving the largest and the most disappointing parts of the game as the dominating parts of the game...

Do want to feel scared ?
Play simply the mod ''Misery'' and you will know it after playing 10 min. and then restart the playthrought, cause you should know the fast ways to die which makes the fear. Now you should take the 2nd way to start the game. I only say it starts in a house at night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7ZcWmPM6OE
