A pretty awesome Stalker experience so

Played through prologue, first side mission (involving some stealth kills and running gun battle) and go to the bar. The graphics (does have typical UE5 issues) are great and really helps sell the atmopshere of the zone. The sound is awesome as well. Gun play feels nice and I've definetly already got jump-scared several times by dogs and mutants. I enjoyed the original Stalker and clear sky so many years ago. I remember almost giving up on those back in the day because my heart just couldn't handle so many jumpscares. Stalker 2 is a great follow-up for sure. It has the world, feel, the jankiness of the original but with modern technology. Hopefully they will be able to work out bugs and slight performance issues (even though I haven't ran into any yet). I can definetly see putting many...many hours into this game. i9-13900K 4090RTX 32 GB

The Zone has finally took me...

I have been waiting so long for the continuation of this game. My opinion might be a bit biased as I am a true fan of the entire S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, including Mods; but I will try to be objective: if you enjoy challenging survival/FPS games, like interesting story and absolutely fantastic gloomy and grim atmoshpere - this game is for you! if you are a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan and enjoy the Call of Prypiat - this game pretty much is beefier, extended, enhanced in all the cases, but at the same time follows the original style, conception, gameplay and design. The technical state of the game was a bit turbulent on release, but thanks to heroic of the GSC Gameworld Team efforts it was significantly improved 5 days after with the two patches. This is the version I am playing now. One thing to mention, though, is that I was able to play it on the second PC of mine, with much lower specs, than minimal requirements. And it looks amazing even with the lowest settings possible. It is my favorite game of the 2024.

Amazing encapsulation of stalker fun

This game is a perfect recreation of all the ideal qualities that drew people to the original stalker trilogy, and so much more. Strikes an excellent chord between the additional realism the franchise has always had in moderation, and the goofy gameyness that brings so much fun when combined with the realism, a component that derivative shooters like Escape from Tarkov do not bring to the table. I really enjoyed how the English voice actors just chew up their lines and make for a bunch of action movie-esqe camp from time to time. It runs rough on pretty much any computer, and its janky as hell from time to time, but it sure as hell is a gem.

Doesnt work since the first Patch.

After all these attempts, I don't feel like downloading more than 100GB for every patch. This sucks. I won't be buying anything more from this studio.
