SPORE™ Collection

Very easy to play, fun little game with plenty of heart. I still have the original boxed copy, but the GOG version has the advantage of being downloadable and installable without any online activation being required.

Spore is really an amazing old game. You build your own custom species and you go from a single cell to a space empire. And future stages are effected by how you played in previous stages. It holds up to modern day, there are some aspects that make the game clunky but nothing major. Spore is like 5 small games in 1 complete game. The Cell Stage: A simple collection game to grow to the creature stage Creature Stage: Either fight all the other creatures or friend them (or a mix) I liked this stage Trible stage: Simple RTS game where you have to befriend or kill the other tribes City stage: Another simple RST game where you have to take over all the other cities Space Stage: A management game where you have to collect spice, make friends or war with surrounding nations and expand your empire. The end goal is to get to the center of the universe I think. I like the space stage but it gets boring after a bit. Spore is a great collection of creativity and a classic game.

The best game of its kind, one might say, the only one. I've been playing it all my life, but only on pirates. And so, at the age of 15, I decided to buy it. The developers deserve it, and I will be grateful to them for the rest of my life Thanks, Spore.

I like that you get to eat other animals in this game, and that you get to have wars in Civilization stage. Neil (7).

I spent a good portion of my life with SPORE and after all these years I'm still not bored and still open up new horizons. You have almost unlimited creativity that expands through several stages and if that's not enough for you then you'll be happy to know that there's a whole DLC giving you an opportunity to basically create your own "levels"/mini-games, being "Galactic Adventures". The GOG version is the best one to buy, considering it gives you a bugless (unlike Steam) client AND keys to go online, so if you're looking onto which version to buy you came to the right place.
